We used Fennell Engineering to assess our garage after a car crashed into it. They were very thorough, detailed in their report and they paid attention to areas of damage that were NOT seen by another inspector sent by the city. When I asked them for a copy of our invoice almost 2 yrs. later, they found it and sent it to me without any issue.

Fennel Engineering arrived on-site and evaluated my concerns within days of our call. Sean was professional, explained complex technical information in simple terms, and provided options to address my concerns. I highly recommend them!

Fennell Engineering did the structural engineering, design and P.E. stamped drawing package for two new structural column and beam systems to remove/open up existing walls on the first level of a three level condo. They were prompt, professional and detailed oriented. The final stamped drawing set that we received was very good.

I called over 15 structural engineers. No one could help me. When I contacted Fennell Engineering, Inc., not only did Sean Fennell answer my call on the second ring, but managed to fit us into his schedule that day for a review of the property and had written, stamped plans for me that evening. We were able to get our building permit on these alone. Within less than a week I received drawn plans. He was easy to work with, straightforward and incredibly accurate and prompt in delivering us what we needed to move forward and rectify a tough rebuild. His effort and attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this firm.

Sean replied promptly to my initial inquiry about assessing possible structural issues with a floor in our living space. He promptly came to assess what he could. He did not charge us for the initial assessment, as he could not assess the structural issues we were concerned about until other work was done. At that point, he determined that there was no structural problem with the living space floor, which gave us great peace of mind. Work was delayed one day at Sean's request. We accepted, because it worked for our schedule. Sean was pleasant, informative, responsive, and prompt. His team did a thorough job with the work. We were charged exactly what we expected, from the estimate. I would recommend Fennell Engineering, and I plan to work with them again.

Sean came by to assess structural issues we were having in our basement he was a consummate professional and was able to explain the problems we were having in simple terms that anyone could understand. Excellent work!

Update: Attempted to hire Sean and the team for another project, after we had a good experience with the first one. All attempts to connect with Sean were ignored or extremely latent in response. Sean mentioned that he could take on another project then after three weeks of him not answering calls/texts/emails, he finally called and said he was too busy. I lost a few months waiting for Sean to reply and was then told to pound sand. Do not know what happened between our first job and now but what a disappointing outcome. Sean visited our house to assess the structural integrity of a very old column and beam. He was upfront and honest in his assessment. His recommendation was in line with my expectations. Sean was prompt in his proposal and once we agreed on the work, he was quick to get everything started. Sean and his team were very professional. The quality of the work is outstanding. How easy the process actually is with this structure engineer!

Sean Fennell came out at short notice to give his structural engineering perspective on my planned home rehab project in North Shore area, MA. I'd invited a Home Depot guy to come out and quote for Andersen windows as a point of comparison with Harvey windows which my contractor recommends on cost grounds. The Home depot guy, who was very shrewd and who has a builder's background, suggested I get a structural engineer in first. Which is how I got round to contacting Sean Fennell. Sean gave me useful and scientifically deducted information relating to roof framing, foundation works and insulation factors, after making a detailed inspection of the property. It's a 100 year old home with a lot of peculiarities so his insights should help ensure my project meets code. He also gave me a vote of confidence in the building contractor whom I've chosen after viewing the contractor's floorplans and preliminary approach to the project. I consider it money spent wisely. I would recommend Sean without hesitation if you're looking to start out on any home renovation project, big or small.

Prompt on response and prompt with services. Very professional and on target with the evaluation. Will use again. And I did use Fennel Engineering again! My second experience was equally as good. Fennell Engineering did more than I anticipated. Will use again and have already recommended Fennell Engineering to others.
