Post Construction Clean up

I needed a parking spot on the side of my house for where my boat can properly sit on ground level, the ground is very moist here so I was advised that I need 57 stone. However, this contractor took it upon themselves to lay down another product with seashell, consuming most of it. I have been trying to get him back here to make the job right just to be told nonsense Now having to hire somebody else. Highly recommend not to use this gentleman.

Excavation Major Grading or Resloping
An absolute disaster! Never have this guy come in and do work for you unless you know exactly what condition your property is going to be in when he leaves. Before he came I had a perfectly good yard. After he left I had 90 percent of my yard was scraped away. I had to hire another contractor to sod 4400 square feet of bare earth. Here is my story. Michael, the owner of Fine Line Grading, quotes me an estimate of approximately $1100 to build-up the dirt in my backyard to help mitigate flood damage from when the next hurricane hits and the canal overflows. It was strictly a preventative measure I was taking. The second part of the job was to add a ditch or pipes along my road to prevent water build-up during the rainy season. When Michael first started the work, I asked him about sod and was told that he would contact a subcontractor but the job was so small that one or maybe two pallets would be needed. Pretty soon Michael is talking to me about doing the job right. I am 71, in poor health, and a complete novice as to what exactly this meant, but, like a idiot , I trusted him and agreed to this, not even knowing what questions to ask. He said he was going to grade a little here and grades little there. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that this meant he was going to scrape away 4400 square feet of my yard and haul it away in a truck. When I come out of the house, I am now looking at a wasteland of dirt. My yard is gone, and no, it s not coming back back since all the grass had been scraped away. We re talking about no lawn left on all four sides of my property. We re talking about 11 pallets of sod, each pallet covering 400 square feet.He never once advised me that getting to do what I love would result in me having to replace my whole yard. I had no drainage issues around the foundation and no standing water after a storm to begin with. Where did my brain go? Now have to pay him for the extra work he put into creating this mess and also buy sod. The cost of this project has skyrocketed to $4600 and counting. I have no irrigation system and to install one would be another $2000-3000. I m now carrying a portable sprinkler around to different parts of the yard all day long. The grass is struggling to stay alive with temperatures in the high nineties and not a drop of rain in sight for at least a week. Do you think that if he actually told me what he was going to do, I would have agreed to it? No way! My 93 year -old Dad is in such poor health that family members from two states are coming in this week to visit. That s where I want to be, spending time with my Dad and family, not watering grass all day long for the next few months. Michael stated his purpose was to help me out since I was in my 70 s and needed a hand . So why in God s name would he take advantage of me like this and create such hardship? And to my utter amazement, he doesn t understand why I m so unhappy.
