Project: Repair Natural Gas or Propane Furnace / Forced Air Heating System
First let me say that the furnace is great and I am pleased with that part of the transaction. Second, the individual who sold me the furnace, Matt, went out of his way on a Sunday to make sure this did not turn out badly which it very well could have. Third, the installation was super fast and the installers were pleasant Here is the part that did not go quite so right. The furnace was installed on Thursday but was not completed until Friday due to extremely heavy rain preventing installation through the roof. Not a problem and this was out of their control. Once the system was in it provided really good heat...for about 6 hours then just up and quit. This was no fault of Fire and Ice as it turned out to be a bad circuit board from the factory. I called Fire and Ice on Friday night when the furnace quit and sent an e-mail on Saturday letting them know the brand new furnace died. I didn't really expect a response until Monday but at about 9:30PM on Saturday I got a text message from George, the owner, and he had no idea I was even a customer. We had a long long back and forth with me explaining over and over I was a customer and the furnace they just installed had stopped working. Here is a small sample of the very long dialogue I had with the owner: what are the issues you're having? Who is this? George with fire & ice Well. To begin with we have no heat. ... Fan blows...no heat. What is the age of the furnace? One day You installed a new one & possibly model & serial number How much of a down payment did you give? This is a brand new furnace you just installed at my house . It is paid in full. It's a Goodman What is the name of the installing company on your invoice & how much did you pay for it? I am confused. Your company installed it. The paperwork hasn't pushed thru yet. I repeat:. What is the name of the installing company on your invoice & how much did you pay for it? Fire and Ice. How can you not know that your company installed this? Paperwork is too new. Did Jordan sell it to you or Matt? -------------- This kind of dialogue when on for quite a long time before George finally understood the furnace was installed and had quit. It was exasperating. The installers were great. The furnace is in the attic and they had a tough job pulling the old one and pushing the new one into the attic. This went rather smoothly with only a couple very minor hiccups. Matt was very easy to work with and very knowledgeable about HVAC systems. He went way out of his way on a Sunday to make sure this all went well in the end and that is so appreciated. After my dialogue with George. the owner, I was quite concerned this was going to go very, very bad but Matt held this all together. I see a lot of great reviews so this was likely an anomaly but I would not return to Fire and Ice personally. My customer service rating of 1 is based on my dialogue with George who seems to not know what is happening in his company which is very concerning. Matt. the tech and installers deserve a 4 to 5 rating.

I highly recommend this reliable hardworking company. My repair tuned out to be a replace (by my choice) and they accommodated my last minute request for additional A/C on the day of installation. Jeff was responsible for the main installation; a great guy to work with as were Randy, Justin and Matt. A fantastic experience.
