Wood Fence - Install
Although a down payment was required, it was a fast efficient job that was well done!

Regarding timeliness...The job was initially supposed to take just one day, but removing 30-years worth of existing layers of linoleum was quite a bit more difficult than the contractor had anticipated. As a result, the one-day job took two. I was very pleased, however, that First Call honored its estimate and did not charge me for the additional labor. Regarding quality...Due to a failure to double-check the type of linoleum being laid, the contractor had to come back a third day to take up the linoleum and re-lay it (it needed to be glued all over rather than just on the edges--which had caused the linoleum to pucker up all over...). Again, First Call was very pleasant and did the job without hesitation or hassle. The newly-laid linoleum is "mostly" flat now...there are a few air bubbles but nothing that can't be fixed, I think. I was most impressed that they were able to lay it in one sheet and did not have to cut it in half to get a good fit. Regarding cleanliness...this is a mixed bag. I was VERY appreciative of First Call's efforts to clean up the tar-like substance they had put down overnight to help remove the stubborn, existing layer of linoleum and which my cat had run through and then tracked on my carpet. (The First Call owner used a product that, thankfully, took most of the paw prints up, thereby saving me from having to re-carpet!) I was less thrilled that that same substance was all over my walls, and I had to expend considerable elbow-grease removing it after the newly-laid linoleum had settled. I know they made an effort to clean up the glue all over the floor, but there is still quite a bit there that needs to be dealt with. In general, they did a good job of trying to respect my carpet--they hand-carried their shoes whenever they had to walk on the carpet. Very nice of them and much appreciated! : )

Wood Fence - Repair
Did not communicate well - disappeared for weeks during the process with no explanation. Cost several hundred more than the original estimate, and I'm still not entirely sure why.
