The prices quoted by David were competitive but the quality of the customer service was terrible. We bought two A/C unit and furnace from him and after he received the final payment he became rude in answering my questions. He was beyond unprofessional and significantly in-responsive for any follow-up maintenance. Buyer beware!

Quick and efficient

Showed up and refused to look at the attic or outside at the AC, complained he drove 47 minutes making my parents feel bad. Then said not to call him back until our Goodman AC completely dies so he we can buy a carrier AC unit from him. Never before has David acted like this, no clue why he acted so upset or frustrated with us.

HVAC replacement project. David replaced the 4 ton, 3.5 ton, and 2 ton units for my home. Quoting was done the same day I placed the order, showed up on time, was thorough, answered questions, even advised where my plans weren't the most economic or best for my home, some of which made his bid less! Of the 3 quotes I requested he was by FAR the least expensive with comparable systems. 1/3rd the cost of the next best quote! All 3 installs were done as planned, in 1 day. They worked hard, and worked long (started in the morning, finished after 9pm). It's only been 1 day, but already the SEER 16 systems are running much less than my old system, and so much cooler. Even the same temperatures don't feel the same.. 72 degrees feels like what 68 would have with my old system. The quality of the installation looks great as well. Love the new Honeywell thermostats he put in. He is extremely focused on customer satisfaction, even more than lining his own pockets with unnecessary or less efficient options. From my other experiences with contractors, he's a rare gem. I won't even consider someone else going forward. This man's got my future business and loyalty. He definitely earned it.

After 7 bids, we selected First Colony Air Conditioning & Heating. The reviews were wonderful, actually the best of any of the companies I researched. David bid our job, and took great care to answer all our questions. We knew our attic was going to be problematic, as it is small and has low roof line. Our home has lots of glass, high ceilings, and a skylight with varying temps in each room, some hot, some cold. David and his crew of 3 arrived promptly, worked throughout the day, and had our place cleaned up by the end of that day. All other companies couldn't schedule our job so soon and stated 2-7days to complete what was needed. David also brought up a very important point which no other company mentioned. It would have cost us more money and time with the other companies. Not only was the cost reasonable, but their dedication to putting in a great working system was obvious. We feel they went above and beyond for us and couldn't be happier. For the first time ever, our home has a near constant temperature throughout. They also made some changes to our other unit, making it more efficient. Thank you First Colony & David for the terrific job well done. We highly recommend them to future customers.

David came to my home yesterday to give me a quote for a new air conditioner. The air conditioner in my home is very old. I had been told I needed a compressor. David identified the problem by replacing my capacitor. I had just paid for a capacitor two days ago, only to find out it was not new. David put in a NEW capacitor and my AC is working fine. He could have easily sold me an new unit. I will be replacing my AC unit and I will be purchasing it from First Colony. David's prices are very reasonable. If you are looking for AC repair or a new AC, look no further.

We have an older home with 2 ac units so I have David on speed dial. There is no other person I call for my AC and heating needs. He is honest, his prices are fair, and I trust his work and recommendations. David is simply the best, if you hire him you'll see exactly what I mean.

I would suggest looking elsewhere. I am revising my initial review. David was responsive at first, very detailed, and careful. He was most concerned about trusting him and getting a good review on Home Advisor. I encountered subsequent unrelated difficulties after the initial repair that was not corrected after 2 follow up visits. My plumber had to come in and repair the improper installation of the drain lines in the air handler. It is also questionable that the blower motor was replaced because the one in the air handler is older than the picture David showed me when I asked to see the damaged parts. The need for the replacement of the drain pan, the float sensor is also questionable. The quality of the work and his personality are good, the knowledge and skill level of understanding how AC systems work is what I am concerned about and wish to inform others so they do not have to suffer what I have experienced.

Professional quality resonable price

Need an evaporator coil replaced on my AC unit and they were BY FAR the cheapest. David was professional and did a great job. Highly recommended.

I feel so lucky to have found a great pro like David! I had an old a/c unit in the condo that I rent out. For years, a local company that I liked and trusted had worked on it. I had discussed a timeframe and gotten an estimate for a replacement unit. But when I started calling in early May 2020 to schedule the replacement, my calls to that company were not returned. I was very reluctant to start from scratch with a new company, but by mid-May the system wasn't cooling well, and a few days later, it wasn't working at all. I'd started desperately calling other companies, but of course everybody's a/c goes out when the weather gets hot. I couldn't find anyone who was available. But I couldn't have my renters without a/c when the thermometer hits 90 during a pandemic either. I reached David one morning at 9. He was at the condo at 10. He was at my house with an estimate by 12. At 2 he was back at the condo with all the necessary equipment. My renters had cool air by that evening. They, like me, found David to be very professional. The price was only slightly more than the estimate my original company had given me. I was happy to pay the difference just to have the work done so quickly and efficiently and on such short notice.

David was very thorough and professional. Expert in what he does. He went above and beyond our expectations. We Will do more business with company because of him.

He also changed around some vents that had been installed incorrectly. He was friendly and made me feel secure in my choice. I would recommend First Colony to anyone.
