First Response Waterproofing & General Contracting

First response was incredibly quick to respond and provided a very honest quote for a system that I needed rather than all the bells and whistles that other contractors tried to sell me. They were able to provide the scope of work and contract electronically which made the exchange very efficient. They were on time, completed the work to a high level of quality, and stuck to the word (on price, timeline, and scope of work). Would certainly recommend first response to anyone who needs help with waterproofing.

This was the only company to come out on a weekend during the time my house was flooding to see the actual problem. They were able to fit us in shorter than the time frame they stated. CJ was great and everyone was friendly. They even washed the floors when done.

CJ was prompt and developed a quick action plan in an emergency flooding situation. He recognized the severity of my project and made me feel like his number one priority for the process. This was after being neglected multiple times by a national waterproofing organization when I told them I had an emergency. He was very knowledgeable and help divert a major disaster from occurring in my home by installing new sump pump, discharge pipes and French drains. I can t say enough kind words about CJ s customer service, his professionalism, and his willingness to help.

I had an emergency - water pouring into the basement from an unknown source. CJ was here in under an hour, stopped the flood , identified the issue and established next steps to take.

The work was reasonably priced and done quickly. When we had one issue they came back to address it. Good group of people and happy with the work.

The Good: CJ adjusted the start date to come early. CJ is very responsive to phone calls and texts. The Bad: We started getting 2x the water in our basement after the exterior drain install. We actually contacted a civil engineer to review the issue and work done by First Response. We were told that the work done by First Response was installed 100% wrong and would only make our water issue worse! To add to this they also jack hammered one of our back deck stairs into pieces and left us a home depot board to replace it. If you work with this company, you are flushing money down the toilet. We lost over $3,000 dollars. Don't make the same mistake!

This company did everything they said they would do, hard working employees. Great clean up, work was completed exactly as they said it would be. Nice guys, easy to talk and work with. Willing to take the extra step and time. paid exactly what they quoted, and on time. Excellent company

Great to work with. CJ is a pro. They were in and out in a day. Haven't had any significant rain since the work so hard to evaluate the effectiveness of the work. Bur I have to say I'm confident going forward. overall so far a great experience

They did a good job and did what the contract said. Unfortunately there were additional leaks that appeared outside of the agreed portion of the foundation. I am asking them to return to do more work. They are very professional.

They were quick to come out and give an estimate. The price was great, especially considering the work to put in an internal French drain. We scheduled and the crew worked hard Jack hammering and hauling the rock out of the basement, installing the drain in one day. Everything stated clean and the crew worked hard. Very happy

The team from First Response was on site immediately, evaluating our flooding problem and removing affected floor and wall surfaces. Their estimate was in line with another we received, and we were able to schedule the repairs within our timeline. The work was done professionally and within specifications.

My first time hiring a contractor from Home Advisor. It was a success. First Response fit us in ( a busy time as winter is coming). Gave us a straightforward estimate on an outside french drain. CJ would have preferred an inside french drain--which he could guarantee for life---but worked with our situation and budget. Nice, smart, hardworker. We had measured wrong on the length so the drain was shorter than we said. CJ adjusted out bill . We lucked out. Would use them again. Excellent experience.

We had 4 different estimates for a flood in our basement. The estimates ranged from complicated drainage system (10k) to conservative approach to fix to current issue. First Response offered the conservative approach and did the work next week. It has proven it is the correct approach thus far. We experienced the remnants effect of hurricane Florence few weeks ago. Our basement is bone dry.

I hired these guys twice, they are hardworking and did very nice job each time. They stood by their work even when when unforeseen conditions arose and they did good work. I would hire them again.

Everything was excellent from start to finish.
