Noureen Chohan was hired to design and oversee the expansion of our office in 2012. She designed the project, oversaw the contractor, worked cooperatively with the architecture firm, participated in weekly construction meetings and supervised the installation of all materials and furniture. I worked with her quite extensively, interacting on design details, coordination of room layouts and user needs. Ms. Chohan was thorough, efficient and easy to work with. She was always accessible to address any issues and concerns. She was always professional and courteous with us, the contractor and the entire buildout team. She is extremely detail oriented and oversaw our project down to the smallest detail. Ms. Chohan provided strong technical skills and design sense to our project, and we were very pleased with the results. She created an attractive initial design that built on the strengths of the original design, and worked with us to finalize it based on our specific needs. The expansion from about 3000 square feet to about 5000 square feet makes the overall suite very long and narrow with a relatively small exposure to the front of the building. Our goals were to maintain a bright and transparent space with excellent flow and functionality, creating a productive work environment and a pleasant space for visitors, and to do this at low cost and with minimal demolition. This has been very successfully accomplished. We also wanted more employee amenity space, and Ms. Chohan addressed this by creating a large interior lounge area that serves as a quiet space or meditation room, as well as a large new pantry area. We are also very pleased with Ms. Chohan’s selection of flooring materials, wall coverings, furnishings, fabrics, light fixtures, etc.

NK Design did an incredible job in transforming what was a serviceable but very drab law office into an enticing space that evokes confidence and demonstrates, in an elegant way, our success. Be willing to listen. Have an overall budget in mind but don't get caught up in the price of individual item. This project came in slightly under budget -- and that is because we went in a different direction than what I had originally anticipated. But for Noureen, I would have ended up with a newer version of what I had. Now, I have something I’m proud of and enjoy.
