"The specific install he is talking about was installed approximately 06/11/20 right when Covid was at its peak. I am a company size of 10 people and was down to myself and one other mechanic, things were not going smoothly at this time. He may have contacted me later that year but having contracted Covid myself my only concern was getting well. I could not really do anything during November and In December of the year 2020 my only concern was getting well. The heat was installed properly correctly in sizing and was not defective. The only way it could damage a transformer is if a sequencer that operates the high voltage could have been defective that device operates at 24 volts, the heat strip was operating properly. The bad transformer was the only problem, a factory defect. There were not multiple problems. As for code issues, Sarasota County does change them occasionally. I was out of the loop for a while and I was just checking to make sure. That system did fail twice the reason being is the breaker sizing in the main panel was correct but did not realize that the disconnect by the air handler which usually not fused did have a breaker that was not properly sized, easy fix match the breaker to what is in the panel. For the second time, it failed there was some water condensation on the bottom of the air handler. I discussed the issue with the inspection supervisor at the time indicating that the garage ceiling was in disrepair, a good portion of the ceiling had fallen allowing moist air into the area the air handler I installed and another air handler that another company installed. That was the reason for the condensation. Like putting a glass of ice water outside. Once again Tom is wrong the inspection supervisor past the inspection with no more issues. As for miswiring the heat strip that was never the issue and the fuse protection was in place never any danger whatsoever! Tom needs to educate himself a little and stop making allegations he does not understand. I install over 120 systems a year usually once every two years you get a customer like this, it happens. The transformer was under warranty but I will not pay for someone else's labor, nobody does. As for the system still not working after passing inspection, I find that to be not truthful, never been contacted again which is fine with me! I give an additional nine-year labor warranty at no extra cost for all my replacement customers. Since Tom's rant was posted three customers read it and I still got their replacement business. They understood that you can't please everyone sometimes, especially if that person is not being truthful. Don @ Florida Air Comfort Services. Forty-five years in the air conditioning."
