avoid this company. they threatened me and held my furniture. I canceled the included second part of the move due to threats. police are involved and investigating.

Interstate Moving entices customers with false promises of a fast, affordable delivery and falsified 5 star reviews, knowing full well that it will not be able to deliver the customers goods within the promised time frames (the company has only one registered truck in its fleet). Despite being fully aware of the significant distress and hardship which such shipping delays cause its customers, Interstate continues its deceptive practices, justifying its actions with a fine print provision in its Bill of Lading, which states that that company has up to 30 business days to deliver customer's goods. However, when speaking to prospective customers, the company's sales representatives never provide this time-frame; instead, they state that the goods will be delivered approximately 5-7 days from the date of pick-up. When customers inquire why their goods have not arrived within the promised time frame, Interstate unleashes Ed Livingston, its general manager, who proceeds to intimidate, threaten and insult them into submission. When speaking to the company's sales rep, Mike, we were promised a delivery time frame of 5-7 business days; we did not receive our goods until a month and three days after the date of pick-up. Nobody in the company called to give us an update, and when we contacted Interstate about the whereabouts of our goods, we were insulted, threatened, and harassed by Ed Livingston, who who proceeded to insult, scream expletives, and threaten baseless legal action against us. Mr. Livingston referred to me, a 32 year old woman, as a â little girl,â demanded that â the women [my mother and I] get off the phone,â so that he could speak with my husband, and referred to my husband as a â d***h***,â a â little f***,â and an â arrogant jerk,â who needed to â learn his f***** lesson. The General Manager then threatened to transport our goods to a warehouse in Washington state, where they would be held indefinitely, unless we signed a non-disparagement agreement. Mr. Livingston proceeded to hound us with phone calls and to send hostile text messages, including insinuations that he knew where we lived. He even called, posing as â Thomas,â Interstateâ s alleged legal counsel, to terrorize us into signing the non-disparagement agreement. Although we finally received our goods (save for a box of kitchen items which Interstate lost), it was not worth the trauma and suffering which we had to endure. I would strongly recommend staying away from them.

Look elsewhere for movers. Allstate is beyond its capacity. Their phone and email systems primarily serve to insulate them from their customers. Allstate Moving picked up ten items from our Baltimore home on 7/19 for delivery to Minnesota; eight arrived. By 9/3, several hours of calls to Customer Care determined that the missing articles had been returned to Allstates Baltimore warehouse and that they would be sent on to Minnesota. This did not happen. Beginning 9/14, five more calls to Customer Care, requiring 5 hours and 38 minutes, got us three separate commitments to have the Baltimore warehouse manager find the two missing pieces and get them delivered. Nothing happened, not even a callback. Two emails to Dispatch were never answered in spite of their commitment to a 2-day response.

Label your box destination or they will go missing, and fragile or they will run a forklift through it!

NOT WORTH IT If you have a choice don't go with this group. They were great in the initial set up to come collect my items, but once it was in their possession I had zero communication from the company. It just felt like being hostage and getting any answers required 100% proactive communication on my part. They also changed the date and time of the actual delivery once that finally happened several times literally up until the moment of delivery. There seems to be ONE customer service person working for the company and she is a very busy woman. If can avoid talking to the owner Ed I would highly recommend, he is a huge jerk who called me rude names and told me to f myself multiple times in our only phone interaction.

This company contracts out the moving. I had 2 guys show up to pick up my things and 2 different guys drop them off in a different truck. So your stuff gets moved and repacked and not always carefully. I had a LOT of broken items (end table, holiday decorations, cat tree, etc.) and only 60 days to file a claim from the day it was delivered. It has been more than 60 days and I am still unpacking and finding broken items. I am not sure yet, but I also think some things are missing.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! DO NOT HIRE. THEY MISPLACED OUR THINGS DELIVERED US SOMEONE ELSES THINGS. WHICH I AM SURE THEY ARE LOOKING FOR. ALSO A SCAM. THEY TOOK 3 MONTHS TO DELIVER, THEN WHEN THEY FINALLY CAME THEY SENT ONLY ONE GUY TO MOVE ALL OF WHAT THEY HAD. WHICH WAS HALF OF OUR THINGS BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE WAS LOST IN TRAVEL.. THEY WILL LOSE YOUR BELONGINGS AND TELL YOU TO FILE A CLAIM. Smh

Interstate Moving came to the rescue when another moving company kept pushing back my pick up date to the point where I would have been unable to complete the move. Interstate Moving gave me a quick quote for a guaranteed pick up and drop off date within my requested time frame and followed through exactly as I hoped for. My move involved a pickup in one state from a separate family member and a drop off at my new city apartment, and the movers could not have done a better job packing the furniture and delivering them quickly and safely to my apartment. I'd recommend them for any out of state move because of their honestly and trustworthiness.

I want my goods delivered. I want them to address my inquiries.

they are unreliable and it feels like they are not finishing what they promised. Nothing is delivered and their customer service is horrible. Do not use this company

DO NOT HIRE! Worst experience ever. The salesperson was great, but delivery and customer service was horrific. There was minimal communication to me and no way I could communicate with them. They sent one person and the truck to deliver and unload, and that person did not have the information about several specific moving tasks we had hired Interstate to do **at extra cost** that required at least two people. I could not reach Interstateâ s delivery coordination group despite numerous attempts by phone and text to resolve this issue while the truck was here. I finally called another number and got a man who claimed to be Interstates General Manager. He was the most abusive, condescending, egotistical and nasty person I have ever dealt with and he did nothing to help. I dont think he even processed what the issue was and instead he repeatedly harassed and threatened me and was extremely verbally abusive. I am waiting for the owner of the company to call me as promised, but I am not holding my breath. Interstate owes me money back for the tasks they left undone because I had to pay the small remaining balance on the contract to the delivery person or he was going to drive away with our stuff. Thoroughly horrible experience. DO NOT HIRE THEM!

If we are honest, most people only write reviews for things like moving companies when they have a sob story or things did not work out perfectly and man, some people have crazy expectations from moving companies. Crazy expectations. I researched SO MANY moving companies before my move from a big city to a small city 2,000 miles apart. I read so many reviews, it made me feel like every moving company was bad news. You really needed to dig deep in all of them to see what it was really like. It took me weeks to make a decision. I got estimates from at least 10 companies. I had so many people emailing and calling me I had to block some. But the point is, they all got some bad reviews and it is hard to get people to write good reviews when they are moving their lives. If it was good, they just move on. In the end, I chose Interstate Moving LLC out of the Delaware, Maryland, DC area. They have offices in California and Washington State too. Lot of companies with similar names. These guys gave me the best price far. Most people were 2x to 4x more expensive. Imagine, 4x more to move the same stuff!!! We packed, three guys came and wrapped up all the furniture and packed it into the truck. They did an excellent job. Small issue with a cracked/broken foot on a chest of drawers, but that is it. Good people. Estimating the amount of stuff you have is hard. Try to use standardized 1, 2, 4, 6 cubic foot boxes. Lot of boxes are not standardized for cubic feet. It can help, but these people are pros at estimating the size of things. Every company was within a few hundred cubic feet just by filling out the forms honestly. Let them help you. Now, here is where things get interesting: I moved to a big state in the Mountain West that most people have never been to. It is not like going from NYC to LA. There is not going to be a lot of stuff coming to this new city. It makes you worry about if the stuff is going to arrive on the timescale they promised you. Interstate Moving did. Yes, it was in range but the range was within 21 business days. BUSINESS DAYS. Do not be counting federal holidays and Saturdays and Sundays. People do not all work those days, why would truck drivers and moving guys? It was there 21 business days later. Which in the real world is like almost 30 days. Add in the holidays and weekends, people. Also, you do NOT want your stuff arriving before you take possession of your new place, right? And neither do they. Do not expect them to be early. Do not plan for them to be early. Just be honest with the date you first want it to arrive. It will be within the date range after that. It does NOT mean the date you want it there, the range means AFTER you have the keys to the new place. You want to play the odds? Lie on the date you can first accept it and hope they are not early. You will pay a lot if you bet wrong and they show up early. Now, every moving company will PROMISE you that only their people and their trucks will do your moving. Well, unless you are moving inside your own city or you live in New England where all the states are tiny or maybe you are moving from Seattle to San Francisco (big cities), or use the super expensive big names, this is not gonna happen. Your stuff is going to be farmed out to a subcontractor for the final shipment. It is just going to be. Accept that and you will be fine. My subcontractor picked up my stuff in Seattle and got it here after driving like 10 straight hours, found some kid on Craigslist to help him move my stuff. One helper. This was a three person job, so these two dudes broke themselves to get my stuff in up three flights of stairs. Brutal. End result? Nothing was broken, everything came, absolutely nothing went missing. To me, this is a fantastic result. Cheap and effective. Would I use Interstate Moving LLC again? We needed help with some big, heavy, expensive stuff that would not fit last minute into our self packing 28 foot trailer. We contacted Home Advisor and they put us in touch with Interstate. They drove all day and night, showed up and expertly packed everything we had and were gone within the hour. There were delays due to COVID, but the delivery was solid and done in less than a full hour. The General Manager is a little rough around the edges, but he is taking care of business- so I was not put off by that. His dispatchers and customer service people were very busy, but managed to keep me up on what was going on with our stuff. This crew are the pinch hitters that come in when it is late and you cannot get anyone else. Just do not expect immediate delivery due to what is going on in transportation these days. If you can live with that, I recommend them (they even moved an 800 lb. safe without damage!)

Be aware of the initial price estimate. I was charged almost double after they arrived on the day of the move. Customer service was unreachable post move for questions about damages.

I called them and got a slightly cheaper quote, than the company i spoke with before, while Interstate Moving representative was way more pleasant to talk to. He quickly answered all of my questions and explained me the whole process. The crew arrived on time and did a perfect job packing my things. Truck with my belongings arrived 4 days later, which was way faster than I expected! Already recommended them to my friend who is moving pretty soon.

The crew showed up on time and packed everything securely and in a timely manner. Very helpful in moving all furniture and miscellaneous items down a flight of stairs. Showed up to the new location in a timely manner and proceeded to unload and place items where needed. The crew kept their face masks on at all times. Would recommend.

The first crew of workers were very organized and packed my items with care. They stored my items for 30 days for free and then had my items delivered in no time at all. Overall great job.

Update 3/31/21: After having a respectful conversation with the company, I agreed to update my rating and review. It was conveyed to me that the person who falsely claimed that we had a conversation and that I requested for my initial review to be pulled has been fired, which was honestly my biggest issue and 90% why I filed the complaint. I have also been refunded a portion of my payment to reflect the piece of furniture that was left at my apartment. UPDATE: I never intended for this review to continue this matter. However, this company has attempted to intimidate me as a consumer with phone calls and text messages claiming to be the company's counsel and requesting availability to schedule a mediation. When I did not respond, I was contacted by HomeAdvisor because the company had falsely claimed that I spoke with them and agreed to remove my poor review. I was not inclined to file a complaint, but now that I am aware that the company is attempting to falsely characterize our transaction, I will be filing a complaint. This company has shown they are dishonest, disingenuous, and willing to falsely portray their inability to effectively run a business. Quoted $1,925, after being nickel and dime, the final cost was near $2,500. I received a call the day before their arrival saying they would be there at 10a, an hour early (reservation was for 11-1p). The next day, they did not show up until 12:45p, 15 min before my elevator reservation ended. I couldnt get a hold of anyone to tell me what was going on and I was afraid they had scammed me. Then they finally showed. They arrived and were fine. Although, they charged me to wrap my furniture in blankets. I had moved 6 times before this and that was a first. But whatever, they put me so far behind schedule that I did not cause a stink, plus I had no leverage. They had my stuff. Not to mention, they forgot a piece of furniture that I had requested they move. I was told it would arrive in Texas in 10-14 days. With no update, I called on day 10 asking for one. I was told it would not arrive until the end of the following week, nearly three weeks after pickup. I said that was ridiculous. Then they changed it to two days. I got a notification less than 24 hours before delivery, on my second day of work, that they would arrive the following day as the last delivery of the day. Ok, fine. I got a call the next day 5 min before their arrival at 12:30p. So I had to notify the judge that I had to leave early and run home to meet them. They got there and it took them 30 min to start unloading the truck. Because of the short notice, I could not initially use the elevator because it was already reserved, but I begged the leasing office to give me a half-hour to get it done before the other movers came. I was not in a good mood initially, but I calmed down, apologized, and tipped them. They got everything in my apartment in about 20 min after unloading. I really enjoyed working with this company before moving day. They were so nice and accommodating. It was astonishing how it all ended.

It was a nightmare! The day of the move, I was told my the supervisor that it was going to cost me double what I was quoted and well, a quote was just an estimate. Then throughout the day, I was accused of adding more to the shipment (we moved some stuff ourselves so it was less), told that they didnt know it was a partial move (they did) and a number of other excuses that did not hold water. Then I was told by the sales supervisor that he just put a lien on both of my houses and that I agreed to pay both of our court costs as he continued to yell at me and tell me how I was not nice to him when I complained that the price was going to be double the quote. An antique cabinet door cannot be open because the key was broken off in the lock. I dont know if there is other damage because I havent unpacked everything yet. (a few scratches and plastic containers broken so far) We have moved 5 times, (4 global moves) and we have NEVER had a worse or more stressful move than this one going only from PA to MD.
