Review by Lucia N. in Miami, FL
I hired Florida Solar & Air back in October 2017 with the promise that by Thanksgiving 2017 the windows and doors would be installed. Today is August 27 and the project has not been finalized. The only thing that went smoothly in this process was the signing of the contract. Since then, the company has not only shown a level of unprofessionalism that I can only label as criminal, but also has completely neglected and abandoned me. Put some popcorn on your microwave because this has been a complete telenovela. Let's just start with the fun fact that It took them 4 months to get the permits approved by the Biscayne Park Village City Council. First they simply did not show up and then they did not present the appropriate paperwork. They were clearly unprepared and are not capable of executing the most normalized part of the process. I received excuses in line of "person x went into labor just before attending the City meeting", "person y had a panic attack" or "person z is no longer working in the company". My project manager in the company is practically a ghost. I've seen and heard from the Phantom of the Opera more than from a representative of the Florida Solar & Air. I've been handed over like a hot potato between what seems to be a revolving door of personnel. Don't even think that you will receive estimated dates/times. When the first stage of the process was finalized, the master window was cracked and the frame had a very clear dent. We practically had to perform a modern version of a via crucis to get the window changed and the door re framed. The working crew acted like a stampede. Have you seen the scene of the Lion King where Mufasa is killed? This crew acted with the same level of violence. The impact door was misplaced and had to be redone, along with the master window. Oh! I almost forgot to mention the fun fact that they insisted on opening the backyard's fence door in the wrong direction and completely broke it! Of course, this added 3 months to the project. Let's not mention the amount of dust and mess that the working crew left around. You will hear from the sales person the systems that they have to isolate the working area. Well, bring your gas masks and get ready for a Burning Man kind of sand storm to avoid dying in the process. For the second phase of the project the paper work took an extra 2 months. Once they came home to install the windows they DID NOT MATCH the previously installed ones. Of course, they blamed it on the client. If you do sign a contract with them please expect to have a license for window and door installation as they will expect you to decipher all of the technical terminology (basically hieroglyphs) in the contract. Unfortunately I ended up with mismatching windows and they have trying to correct it for the past 2 months. Just to add an unexpected twist to the plot, I recently had to reallocate due to my work and I now can not sell the house because the permit is still open. Of course, I have now have legal representation as they are not only affecting my family's economy but have deteriorated my mental and emotional health. The worst part of it is that THEY NEVER PROACTIVELY REACH OUT FOR UPDATES. I've had to chase them down like the FBI Most Wanted to get a simply update. It took them on average 3 weeks to come back with an answer. Of course, don't brace yourself for a victory dance. You ALWAYS end up crying after talking with Florida Solar & Air. I am thinking of training messenger doves or send them smoke signs to see if that works. More than happy to share my grief if this will avoid a decent and hard working family like ourselves the pain that we are going through. Maybe I'll get a response from them after this! (as long as they actually DO EXIST and are not the product of my imagination). Final fun fact: I did get proactive calls from the accounting team to pick up the bill.

Project: New Windows
The sales rep was good. The installers could have been cleaner when covering the furniture after they removed the windows, but overall a good experience

Excellent Company & Service installers. Clean, fast, efficient & great on cost. They were on time, respectful of our property, cleaned up behind themselves & followed up after the service. The office staff great to work with & very easy from beginning to end on 3 projects we have used them for. Highly recommended!

Project: New Windows
HAd an initial issue getting the permit but one the paperwork was completed the techs always showed up on the days and times scheduled. They never left a mess in my house and always addressed all the concerns I had. Windows were actually fabricated and delivered much quicker than originally anticipated. Props to Brian, Carlos, and Alejandro for a job well done

The 2 techs- Galbo and Claudio were pleasant and very capable. They did a great instillation. Getting the project started pre-installation, due to permits and HOA approval was a little clunky, but the scheduling personnel were very cordial and helpful with updates.

Jay was very detailed with his presentation and extremely knowledgeable . We signed and it was a smooth process (even with hurricane Irma halting us for a little bit). We got the windows installed within a few days . Edwin and Emanuel were extremely courteous and very nice. They answered all our questions and doubts and assured us if we saw anything we didnt like to let them know and they would fix it. We are very pleased with the outcome and the company is amazing!
