Fobras Landscaping Company

We had a very similar experience to another review posted last year. I would not recommend working with them. Fobras installed a brick paver patio for us in Fall '23. The price was competitive, and while there were some minor issues that came up during the project, overall we were satisfied with the result. We noticed in the Spring that multiple pavers had come loose around the border of the patio; our contract included a 4 year warranty, so I contacted them to have it fixed and provided photos. Their initial response was that it was indeed covered by the warranty and they 100% stood by their work, but that it may take a while since they were in the middle of their busy season. I did not hear back for months and after following up in the Fall multiple times, the fixes have still not been made and I've effectively been ghosted. Highly unprofessional. Overall, while the patio still functions and looks nice enough, I'm not sure how long it will stay that way.

We used Fobras landscaping for our back patio last year in June. I am not a type of person who writes reviews especially bad ones but I feel like the whole project was a joke and we cannot get over it even a year later. The fact that they started almost a month later as proposed due to weather (we would completely understand this part) but the crew wasnâ t even correctly informed about all project details. Me and my husband had to try to explain to crew several times what we wanted and what we agreed on with Jose. This project was finished in 2weeks instead of one and few things had to be redone due to miscommunication between Jose and his crew. When the crew finally left, there were a few loose caps that needed to be glued and some areas on the floor had missing sand in between pavers. Jose told us that he will send someone to finish it within few days. I followed up with him week later, he never even responded to me and nobody came back to this day. As per our contract, we had 1 year warranty on our patio. Some pavers around corners and black edging got loose. As much as I was hesitant to even call them back due to our experience from last year, my husband decided to call Jose. ( this was before the end of our 1year warranty). Jose asked for pictures and told my husband that he will be in touch. Once again, my husband followed up with him multiple times after he sent him requested pictures but never heard back. I donâ t know what it is because this company has also good reviews. We were trying to hold back on our bad experience (and I didnâ t even mention all of the issues in details) but unfortunately we are dissapointed with Fobras Landscaping.

Summary: I highly recommend working with Fobras Landscaping Company, and believe that you should too. Fobras provided a great mix of affordability, integrity, know-how, speed, and flexibility. Context: I had been planning to renovate my concrete slab patio (approx 500 sqft.) and front walkway for the past 2 years as a result of having our primary shade tree die. Once the tree was removed the patio was unsightly and very hot due to its western facing orientation. I went online and researched several layout ideas to put together a "mood board" that would guide the overall direction. After I was satisfied with the overall direction I began to reach out to hardscape contractors for quotes. I contacted no less than 6 different companies to come and take a look at my project. I wanted multiple quotes and for a project this size because due diligence is critical to getting the results you want. I had 2 contractors come to do the evaluation but then ghosted afterward. 1 contractor was upset that I was fielding multiple quotes. 1 contractor gave a quote that was a full 40% more than any other quote I received (I call that a F.U. quote). As tedious and time-consuming as multi quoting was, it was probably the best thing I could have done. In the process of vetting multiple contractors, I learned a lot about the methods of construction, materials used, and potential areas of concern. Enter Fobras. I worked with Jose Hernandez who was my project manager/salesperson. He came to the house and did an evaluation with my wife and me. He showed us examples of previous work and outlined materials and procedures. Based on my research he was addressing all of the critical points of the project. Jose was responsive and friendly and seemed genuinely interested in the project. We negotiated a total project cost that seemed fair and reasonable to both sides. After a small deposit ($300), the crew was at my home 2 weeks later to begin the construction. Construction took about 4 days, and it was a loud, dusty affair. The Banda music started promptly at 9am and the gas-powered cut-off saws started shortly thereafter. That's just the nature of modern construction, but the crew was always on time and diligently working throughout the day. One complication was that I wanted a cedar pergola built to make up for the lost shade tree. This is not a core capability for Forbras, but Mr. Forbras himself oversaw that portion of the project and pulled in a special carpentry contractor to complete the task. He really went above and beyond on this stage of the project. He personally went with me to Menards to help with material acquisition after I initially gave the wrong dimensions. He didn't fuss and groan, just reassured me that everything would be ok. He's a professional that actually understands the service part of customer service. When construction was complete they power washed everything down, re-seeded and topsoil over damaged areas of grass, and reminded me of the 5-year warranty I have on the patio. I am pleased with Fobras Landscaping and would certainly recommend them for your hardscape needs. Special thanks to everyone involved. I could not have done it without you. -Glen

The guys did a great job. We needed to redo a paver patio, seat walls and grill surround that was falling down due to poor workmanship of the prior landscaper. They came out quickly for an estimate and thoroughly explained the work to be done. Other landscaping groups said we had to completely use new pavers or modify the design. Forbras saved ours and cut the costs substantially and there were no surprise costs. The crew was friendly and responsive. They took care not to damage anything the result is great. We are very happy and plan on using them again for future projects.

Fobras were an absolute breeze to work with from the very first meeting to the finished product. The work is superior, I could not be more happy than what I received. Definitely over-delivered, I hired them to do a complete paver patio and seating wall. Worked with Jose every step of the way. He is an extremely polite and informative person. He goes above and beyond, more-so, we went out of town during the install and I was comfortable in providing him with my garage code. Very Trustworthy. The Team is also clean and tidy. I will always use and recommend this company, in fact, they just did my father-in-law's place too.

Fobras was excellent from quote to completion. They rebuilt my front brick retaining wall that was falling down and also rebuilt my paver front walkway that sank. The owners and crew were very thorough and extremely professional. They had exceptional attention to detail which resulted in a finished product that looked brand new. I highly recommend Fobras.

Im not one to send reviews good or bad but I feel obligated to share my experience with anyone who is shopping for an outstanding, honest and hard working crew. I had my driveway, fire pit, stairs, walkway and porch replaced by Fobras. I originally was going to go with another company until I read his reviews. Fobras has 5 star reviews which attracted me and I am so pleased I hired them. It was a big job with several changes. They were completely cooperative and met my every need. Very nice, hard working people with excellent skills. This is the company you want to hire!
