Doors Repair
It was a positive experience. I had a family friend try to install a storm door on my downstairs entrance, and he badly botched the job, ruining the vinyl siding and trim around the entrance. Rick was able to fix all the damage and installed the storm door in a couple of hours. Considering the damage Rick had to fix, I'm very happy with the install. I would use Rick for any future work I had.

Rick and his team were professional, considerate and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond with pulling permits and protecting the property. They were true to their price and suggested better options along the way. They started and completed when they said they would and the finished product is beautiful ! my project originally started with updating the bathroom, then soon turned into a whole house re-do!! rich successfully coordinated painters, sheetrockers, electricians, plumbers and hardwood floor refinishers to complete the final project in a timely manner. it ended up alot more costly than i originally planned but in looking around the house it definitely was worth it!!

The estimate was provided quickly and due to a scheduling change he was able to get started right away. I had a door and several pieces of trim replaced, everything looks great! I'll be using them again to fix a window in need of repair.

They were excellent! Arrived on time, did very neat work and cleaned up after themselves. In fact, they decided that part of the job I had asked them to do....close up a roof vent,...did not need to be done when they got up on the roof and could really look at the work needed. So, they said they would take back the material they had bought to do it and they took the money they spent off my bill. The work they did do, that is, finish carpenty around some windows and installing some clapboards was done very neatly and professionally in a timely manner.

Rich and Scott are great! They replaced all the windows in our house (24 of them) and were the only company that recommended New Construction windows over Replacement windows - a very smart suggestion. Yes, a bit more time and a bit more money, but well worth. Quality work, they do not cut corners or rush things. Think twice before not hiring them. In fact, we've already hired them to do some additional work.

We thought Fontaine Custom Carpentry had done a good job on the door even though the eave wasn't made as we had discussed. We realized recently after getting up on a ladder to check the top of the eave that it hadn't been caulked were it meets the clapboard so there's a space were water can get in. The biggest problem occurred when we had them repair the exterior wall abutting the new door. They took wood and clapboard from our garage and used it for the job without asking permission or telling us they had done it. They have made an offer to pay for part of what they took but we have found the amount to be unsatisfactory.

"The area in which they claim there is no caulking, was flashed properly and by far keeps the water out better than any caulking. The door trim or eave as the customer calls it was built to a drawing that was supplied by me and accepted by the customer. The material that I believed to be scrap I used to save the customer the cost of extra material needed to patch some unexpected rotten wood."
