Fortune Plumbing is a family owned and operated plumbing company which has served the Gainesville, Cumming, Roswell and North Georgia area since 1989. We are licensed and fully insured with General Liability and Workers Compensation insurance. We specialize in Repair plumbing, Re-pipe and pipe replacement plumbing, and kitchen and bath remodeling and have a one-year Warranty on our work. Our service technicians have an average of fifteen years plumbing repair experience. We also offer sewer, drain cleaning and rooting services with our state-of-the-art high-pressure Jetting equipment and high-definition sewer Camera and Locate equipment. Install or Replace a Water Heater

I had two hot water heaters removed and a large one installed. The installation was fine but the service after the sale left much to be desired. My hot water heater was only five months old and it began to run constantly through the over flow valve. I lessened the temperature twice trying to get the water overflow to stop. Nothing helped. It ran constantly. my water bill went up. I realized that maybe my pressure gauge was malfunctioning. So I called Gary Fortune and told him my problem and he said, I will come out and check the valve, but if it is not the valve, I will charge you a service charge; I assumed he would be like other companies and be willing to come out and check his product, and not charge me a service call. Install or Replace a Water Heater

Fantastic company! I needed help removing a leaking hot water heater and installing a new water heater after the cleanup. The owner was extremely helpful and willing to come out right away. The technician, Scotty, is very knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are very competitive and I've found my go to for any plumbing needs.

The plumber came out and look at my issue and was able to determine it was not due to the plumbing leak I had anticipated and found out it was due to a roof issue. He left with out charging me. I'll use them again!

Mr Fortune is so nice and his employee who came out had my horrible plumbing problem fixed quickly and he was ver efficient and explained what he was doing so i would know in the future what my options are if it happens again. Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the state in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Businesses will not be admitted to the network if their owners or principals have the following felonies in their available criminal records*:

Arson

Assault/domestic violence/battery

Child abuse

Intimidation/terrorist threats

Kidnapping/abduction

Lewd and lascivious behavior

Manslaughter/murder/homicide/vehicular homicide

Rape/incest

Robbery/carjacking

Sex offenses

Other felonies not listed above that occurred in the past seven years

Contracting without a license in the past seven years

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened biennially.

How is COVID-19 impacting the HomeAdvisor background check program?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, several government agencies and courts across the country have temporarily closed their offices. Licensing

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities.
