Inspection Service
Our experience was not good. The workers brought a gas saw to use in a closed up basement. After 2 hours, they were sick and closed up our basement and left. 4 hours later, 4 members of my family were feeling the effects of carbon-monoxide poisoning. My husband even spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital because of it. As for the basement being waterproof, only time will tell. I do know that every time I turned around there was something else that needed to be added to the final bill. Also there is splatter on the door at the top of the basement stairs. Now how much mess is too much?

"This is a fine family, very warm and friendly with a serious foundation problem. The basement walls were tipping in and there was a lot of water infiltration. It was a block foundation and we bid a standard I-beam support for the wall, and interior perimeter foundation drain system with sump pump as well as closing a door to the exterior. When we opened the floor we found no footing and a floor approximately 8-10 inches thick. This is very strange construction with the wall setting on the floor. We had to completely alter the approach to the project. One of the alterations was to saw the floor before jackhammering."

Basement Drainage Channels Installation
I thought John was good at his job. I also liked the workers. they cleaned up after they were done. I gave the bosses a 4.5 because, they said the work would be started at 9:00AM and they didn't get there until around 1:30PM. I did not mind that but they should have called me and let me know that they workers were tied up elsewhere. A phone call means a lot.

I have used John for several projects in my home over the past year. He has done a kitchen and bathroom remodel as well as install windows for me. I no longer go any where else for pricing or completion of projects for my home, and have referred John to my neighbors who have also been satisfied with his work. John is sure to communicate any issues that arise throughout the project and resolves everything in a timely manner. Not only does he provide excellent craftsmanship, he is also a man of integrity. He will treat your home as if it was his own throughout your project. I would definitely recommend Heartland Basement Authorities to others.
