Furniture Medic by Bill Leahy

He hasn't completed the work. Not sure when he will do so. I have followed up to no avail.

Bill Leahy claimed to be a professional with 17 years experience with cabinet refinishing. We contracted Bill, and his company in September 2020, with promises of completion by Thanksgiving, certainly by Christmas. The job would take 5 days. We paid a $ 1,000 deposit and waited for job to begin. We waited, and waited, Thanksgiving came and went, as did Christmas. After endless excuses he began work on January 5 2021. From the beginning his work was shoddy, and lacked any satisfactory results. His finishing skills were less than amateur, and he seemed to lack any understanding of what quality looks like. He did say not to worry he would take care of it. Bill, was just not capable, he was in fact incompetent. Finally near the end of March, 2021 we had to fire him, and ask for our deposit back. Nothing he had done was without a problem. We did get our deposit back, but only after threatening him with law suit. Do not hire this company/person.... expect really bad results if you do!!!

I hired William to refinish a table for me on 7/17/2020, I was told the job will take 6-8 weeks, I have not talked to him since last fall, now when I call, leave messages, no one gets back to me After contacting Home Advisor Mr. Leahy contacted me and stated the table would be ready the following Tuesday. Tuesday came and went with no table. Contacted Mr. Leahy and received a text with a picture of the table. The text said it would be another day so it could have another coat of finish. I waited a week with no contact. On March 1 I contacted Mr. Leahy via text and he said he could deliver it that day. Finally, got the table back. The price was fine and he was very nice but I would not use his service again.

Bill looked at, picked up, and returned the walker with the repaired seat the same day. I think the virus terrorizing the world right now had everything to do with the speed of the work. I could have bought a new walker for the cost of the repair, but I was glad to give a local tradesman business in these times.

He was professional, very personable and he got the job done quickly. He also charged less then his original estimate. I was very pleased!
