I was referred to Gordon at GB's Appliance Repair through Appliance Pro's. He was timely arriving the same day on 9/25/23. Stated it was my circuit board that needed to be sent out to be repaired as they do not make them anymore and it would take a week. A week goes by then he states that was only an ETA of when the part would be ready. Another week goes by and he says he is out another week due to a swollen Achilles tendon. Ok! Another week goes by. This is now the 19th. I stated I was not waiting any longer & would come pick up my part tomorrow and he could reimburse me the $285.00 I gave him. This way I could send out the part to be repaired and have someone else install it. Then next day Friday he calls and states he doesn't have my part and his brother may have picked up the package my part was in and to give him till Monday the 23rd. I stated come Monday I am going to his house to get my part, my $285.00 and/or I will take him to small claims court. Monday he sent a tex trying to put me off another 4 days to which I replied "no today is the day" I am coming to get my part and money. He finally agreed to me half way and he did give me back my money, yet no part. So now I have to figure out how to buy a new frig. I had to spend over $300.00 on dry ice and ice every 3 - 4 days. Being elderly on a fixed income it was extremely hard and stressful. Not once did he apologize. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN, HE HE HORRIBLE. Additionally, his business license is expired.

I appreciate that Gordon came out to our house the morning after I called, diagnosed the problem (we needed a new ice maker), said he could be back the next morning with the replacement and he would clean the coils of the fridge/freezer as well. We paid him as requested. I waited until afternoon the next day and finally called to see what was going on. He said he was on another job but could come by in an hour or so. Fine. He showed up and replaced the ice maker. I reminded him about cleaning the coils but he said he couldnâ t do it then, however he would be in the area the next day and would come by and take care of that. No Gordon the next day. But the ice maker was working so we just wrote it off to poor business management. But a short time later the ice maker quit working. We phoned and he said heâ d be out the next day. No call, no Gordon. I noticed that the ejector â fingersâ of the ice maker seemed to be hung up on the electrical cable and took a photo and sent it to him. He said it must have come loose somehow. I have a series of texts between us, with me reminding him of the agreed upon appointment but not showing up and asking when he could be here. He did come back after several broken appointments but when he left it still didnâ t work. After 6 broken appointments and no calls from him to reschedule I texted that we paid for a working ice maker and we expected to have one. He replied that he would be here the next morning with a new ice maker. Again, no call and no Gordon. We have given up. I am reluctant to file a dispute with the credit card company but that may be what I need to do. I have given this business every opportunity to fix this problem but I no longer have any confidence that this will happen.

Great communication and customer service! Would call him again!

This guy went out to my property (it is an unstaffed apartment building, so there was no one on-site to meet him). He seemed uninterested in the project and declined to work on it. He could have called me from the site and we could have talked it over, but instead, he called me after he left. He refused to work on the washer because there was water on the floor - no kidding, the washer was leaking which is why we needed it to be fixed. Had he called me while he was on-site, I could have had someone meet him and either move the washer to a different location or taken other steps. As it was, he did not do the job. The *value for money* is 5 stars because he went out and did not charge me.
