Subject: Gill Construction Co. INC. Grievances & Resolutions On January 6, 2026, I signed into a contractual agreement with Gill Construction Co. INC. with professional expectations on a reasonable timeline. The Statement of Work SOW agreement signed by me and Gill Construction representative, Cheryl Stevens, has not been met despite following the stipulations in the agreement. The first stipulation in question is for a SOW change order on the work being performed or lack thereof and can be either credited or charged. On the original contract see attachment, I sent a request on February 11, 2026, to have six items removed on the work list but no such change was attempted. The email sent for the request (see attachment) does specify those six items due to time constraints because I was to give my thirty-day move out notice from my current residence. The second stipulation is I have not received all the receipts for the amount I have currently paid out, $22,290 despite also requesting them too. After multiple attempts to address these issues via emails, phone calls and text messages, I decided to request my contract be cancelled on February 20, 2026, for a partial refund with no response. Then twice more via phone call/voicemail on February 24th and another email on March 4, 2026 see attachments. Work complaints Besides the issue with the contract, there have been a few work concerns. For starters, before the official city of Lubbock permit was issued over the residential plumbing & gas line, Gill had their representative start work on January 10th; the permit was issued Jan. 17, 2026 and I finally received the receipt on the 21st. As stated by the city website and code ordinance, It is the responsibility of every permitee, whether professional contractor or homeowner, to obtain and be familiar with the laws that govern their proposed construction work. These are minimum standards that must be met; and failure to meet them is a violation of the law Class C Misdemeanor. Most importantly, they are designed for your safety and protection, as well as for the public . Between the start date and permit issuance, anything more costly could have occurred, will need to verify the work again, including receiving a Class C Misdemeanor that can go up $500. Then there was the problem of Gill s painter not following what I had wanted in regard to painting, which wasn t done right the first time, then they left my house in a complete mess with dust and debris everywhere. I had to find another painter who knew what he was doing and it cost me $6,500.00 for a do over. Resolutions

"We thought everything was going well, our client requested to expand the scope of work to repair a gas line into the house. We provided that service, and we were three to five days from finishing the job. We found out from our subcontractors that she had requested them to not talk to us. This became an issue as the job progressed. As we were finishing the painting; the client texted Gill Construction that our services were no longer required."

Bathroom Remodel
The work that was done was great! Everyone was very professional and worked with me throughout the entire process. Most importantly they stuck with the amount that was quoted. No new fees occurred! The only down side, as with any contractor, it was not completed on time. We asked it to be done by December the 18th (started in October) or wait until after the new year. It wasn't completed until March. So, plan accordingly!
Bottom line, we have a beautiful bathroom that we love.

Two barrooms total resort recumbent made ADA accessible. Build 20x 22 storage building foam insulated sheetrorked and painted, came out nicely. Keep us informed of any issues good work.

Sunroom or Patio Enclosure Building Service
Gill Construction built us a pergola next to our pool last summer.
The workers were very polite and cleaned up the extra debris every day they were here.
Gill Construction did the job in a timely manner.

A lot of small stuff was off uneven tile seat where water won’t run off , did not evenly space tile to get rid of small pieces. Installed towel rack about three inches off center and covered our bedroom with a thick dust.

Great! The windows turned out to be a tight fit, but they got them installed in good time. They even fixed a problem with one of the screens. They were very professional.

The head guy noted that one of the screens was damaged and said they would order and install the screen later. Said to myself: "I'll never see these guys again". But 2 weeks later the screen was installed. Excellent work all around.

All employees working for Gill Construction were very courteous and dependable. Construction site was cleaned every day. Employees made us feel as if we were a high dollar client, even though our project was not a big one. The company kept to the original estimate. No surprises. At one point we had a deviation of plans that was not estimated for and out of our control and overages to the estimate were absorbed by Gill Construction. Once construction was completed, Micky went over the entire purchase order making sure we were satisfied with the work and the cost. Additional attention was taken with quality of work, supplies, and timing of work done. No complaints or concerns at all.

This was a major remodel project with complete redo of dining room, two living areas, master bedroom and bath (most of the first floor of our two story home). After attempting to get several bids for the work we chose Gill Construction for their timely response, reasonable prices and highly personal approach. We had used them for an addition to our home 10 years ago and had remembered what a positive experience we had then. From the very first meeting with Jerry and Mickey we were impressed with their professionalism, creativity and obvious interest in our project. We were especially pleased when the subcontractors were brought in during the estimate process which gave me great comfort in the validity of the bid. Jerry came back 3 times to make sure all areas were covered and then provided a detailed quote. (I will say that the other companies I tried were slow in getting back or very high in their quote. ) Our project started on the date chosen and we also agreed to a completion date i(as we all know, these jobs can often drag on.... more on that later). From the very first day, the Gill crew showed up on time and worked diligently. There was a steady flow of workers and I never had to call and ask where somebody was or if someone was going to show up. There had obviously been a focused effort on coordinating each step of the work. I was in constant communication with Mickey throughout the job and cannot say enough about how well he keep me informed and updated on what to expect. Every time he said someone would be there, they were!! This was such a nice part of the experience. We have done other projects with other companies and I always seemed to be calling to ask why people were not showing up. Not so with Gill! And not only do they show up...the subs are all polite, professional and incredibly skilled craftsman! Even when we made some changes along the way (and we made several!), they were quick to accommodate and made sure we were happy with every choice and decision. They also did an amazing job keeping up with daily clean up and keeping the house livable for us. And finally, everything was completed a full week ahead of schedule!!! That is unheard of in my experience! Though I know they had other projects going, we never felt like we were not getting their full attention. And we never felt like they were rushing through just to meet a deadline. We could not be more proud of the finished product or more impressed with Gill Construction! We truly have a transformed home with beautiful, high quality, unique ,custom features that absolutely exceeded our expectations. Jerry and Mickey were involved every step of the way and have a true commitment to customer satisfaction. There is no question where we will turn for any future home projects. (I won't waste my time trying to get bids from any others.) If you are looking for a reputable, trustworthy, and price competitive contractor, do yourself a favor and give them a call! These guys will do it right! I would definitely add a few +++ to that overall A rating!!

I initially visited with Jerry at Gill construction to discuss what I wanted done. Within a few days, he came out and inspected the roof on my patio and we discussed the approach, time-frame and expected costs. All were perfectly reasonable. The work was completed well within the discussed time frame and Jerry came out to take a look at the finished product before collecting the balance of the payment. <br>This was a very small job compared to what they usually do, but, they were willing [and obviously capable] of doing a nice job. The work was completed quickly, completely and without incident. They did exactly what they said they would do, cleaned up when they were done, gave me a complete summary of the work completed and discussed a few other things they spotted around my house while they were there working. <br>My only real complaint, and this is fairly minor, is that I was not contacted before the employees actually arrived to do the work. I did not explicitly ask to be contacted so that I could be present while the work was done, the area that needed work was easily accessible to anyone and so it did not require my presence. In my initial discussion with Jerry, we talked about the scale of this job being conducive to his people coming by when they had time and given the ease of access, it was a lot easier to just let them schedule it at their convenience. <br>I would not hesitate to call Jerry at Gill construction for future projects -- minor or major. <br> <br> <br>

Contact and communication was excellent. We had bad weather during this period but no delay in the service they provided. Arrived on time, did the exact work we agreed upon and cleaned up afterwards. Pendant lights were installed perfectly. Electrician did an excellent job. Crown molding and fireplace mantel (custom built) look great. I had to do some minor touch ups using stain to cover wood filler and some corners, but overall, great job. Picture windows installed were completed in a professional manner, no issues, looks great. I would definitely use Gill Construction again. Also, a special thanks to Micky Hutson, sales representative for Gill Construction. Micky was always available and responded well to any questions or concerns that I had during and after the construction process. <br />

All the Gill employees were polite and helpful. I was unsure whether it was best to tear my old sun room down completely or use the existing frame. They helped me think through all the possible options and come up with the best plan for my budget. It looks very nice. The old sun room was very hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It is going to be much more comfortable now with the wonderful double pane windows and insulation between the roof and ceiling. I would not hesitate to recommend Gill Construction to my friends and I will call them again in the future for my next project. <br />
