Mr. Gaines is a highly qualified Structural Engineer, and he has EXCELLENT customer service. He is a gentlemen, and easy to work with. He came on-time, as arranged, reviewed all areas in question, wrote an extensive report, and took the time to respond to my insurance company. Mr. Gaines is also a good source for qualified support trades to help solve any issues that he finds.

Experienced, knowledgeable and professional. A bit pricey but he provided understandable diagnosis of problems and realistic solutions. Follow on official report was a bit slow but easily resolved.

This licensed professional is very thorough and is good at explaining complex issues in layman terms. He also gave us solutions to our problems and helped us distinguish been structural and asthestic issues.

I bought a property in North Carolina but was unable to find any structural engineers who were willing to do a structural inspection on a residential property. I received a call from Gaines Engineering, who is based in South Carolina, and since he is licensed in both states he was willing to make the drive to NC to do the inspection. He was not only extremely kind to speak with his price was very reasonable considering he had to drive two hours up and two hours back to do the inspection. I highly recommend this company. Other companies I spoke with were downright rude when I asked if they would do a a residential inspection. Mr. Gaines was polite, kind and very understanding. He was a pleasure to deal with!
