I have a poor experience with this contractor regarding building new stairs and cleaning up trims from demolition by others. First, their scheduling was in the wrong order than the contract specified leaving 1 tenant with 1 less egress for a temporary period. Then, an estimate for the build of wood stairs they had provided previously was doubled in price when lumber prices increased, even though, the delay was solely their fault. Then on the first day on the job, they demanded an extra work order that was clearly in the contract scope. They later agreed with me, but, the integrity was lost. Then they tried intimidating me by leaving nasty voice messages that I better pay right away or they will make my life miserable. They were telling me not to talk to the City inspector or it will only get worse. The reason was that they jacked the price up for extras that were not requested and told me to pay or else. The owner and his side-kick are dishonest and disreputable people to do business with. I ended up losing money and a tenant had a bad experience with a lack of stairs. The contractors main goal was to try and take advantage of the homeowners by extorting funds right from when work started. They do nice quality work, however, I would suggest staying clear of them unless you have a lawyer on retainer to deal with their unethical business practices.

I had Gallant put a laminate floor in a bathroom on 12/28/18. I asked Shawn if he checked out the floor for rot because the toilet had to be removed to do the job, he said that the flooring was good so he put down the laminate flooring. On 5/22/20 I got a call from my tenant saying the toilet was not working so I called the plumber, he went down, to make a long story short we had to put in a new toilet. When he took the old toilet off he said the toilet was not seated to the waste pipe properly, it appeared that the waste from the toilet had been soaking the floor for a long time causing the floor to rot. He made some temporary repairs to the floor so he could remount the toilet but he said that the floor area around the toilet had to be replaced and that the flooring has been ruined. In my email to Shawn I asked him what he thought about this situation and how he could make this right. I sent 2 emails him made 2 calls, web never got a response. This is a big problem that needs to be fixed, I have 5 people that are using this bathroom, I also had a $1000 bill from the plumber. We can not have gaf work like this, we want it taken care of ASAP. I think we have been patient long enough

***PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU HIRE THIS COMPANY*** Don t even know where to begin with this company. From start to finish they exceeded my expectations. They were OUTSTANDING! You get what you pay for and they got the job done in a matter of days. They finished an entire basement in less than a week and were even able to lower the original agreed upon price by $1k!! The quality of worksmanship was unbelievable w/ the process as seamless as can be and I would hire them again in a second and recommend them to anyone looking.

They right over gave price on the spot i signed the next morn they came the following morn crew of young kids he was schooling them like a father would and they knocked it out that day i will definitely have them back in the future paul p. Thanks

DO NOT HIRE SHAWN GALLANT. The workmanship is poor, he promises to return to resolve and doesn't... I have been chasing this guy for months giving him every benefit I can. I will gladly show pictures of the poor quality workmanship to anyone who would like to see them - this isn't an opinion but a fact. I was originally excited to hire him, he spent little time on the job and left all the work to his workers and never did any quality control. I am now filing a complaint with the BBB, the Mass Building Licensing board and will be taking him to court.

What encouraged me to hire Gallant Construction was the fact that they responded to my project request in less than 24 hours by phone on the next morning. He was at my home within 3 hours to inspect the project and provide a verbal estimate. A few short hours later received an email with a written estimate and projected start date. Responsiveness was very important. Shawn Gallant and his crew showed up early and on schedule. His crew were polite, knowledgeable, experienced and professional. A serious problem was discovered throughout the project and they worked relentlessly to resolve the issue to its completion and the satisfaction for both Shawn and his crew and us. The crew at times made extra efforts to ensure that no further issues developed during the project and that we were not inconvenienced. Would I hire Gallant Construction again? I did. I added another small project at the completion of the initial job. His crew completed that project quickly and efficiently. I would consider using Gallant Construction

Shawn is my son-in-law and he did painting, sanding of floors, and other work for me. His work is very neat and he did a wonderful job. Regardless of the fact that he is family, I can recommend him for the quality of work that he did. He came on time every day and showed up and worked a full day.

Shawn was on-time, professional, friendly and the work was done quickly and correctly. Shawn installed 4 drapery rods quickly and well. I plan on hiring him for future jobs.
