"(consumer name withheld per their request), Our price for the clean and check was $95 at that time. We found your flame sensor to be dirty and corroding. We recommended that you replace the flame sensor by the fact that it was dirty and corroding. When we signs of corrosion, we do not recommend cleaning the flame sensor for a couple of reasons: 1) Flame sensors are only expected to last 4-6 years at which point it is recommended that they be replaced as part of regular maintenance of your equipment. 2) Cleaning a flame sensor that is in the condition your was in would have been an extra cost to you that would not have had much of an effect, and you would have most likely needed to replace the sensor anyways (costing you even more money and more hassle). We operated under best practices of an HVAC company. Had we had only cleaned the flame sensor (it would have been an extra cost (but cheaper than a part replacement), but then if that did hold which based on the condition of your flame sensor, it would not have, you would have to pay for the service call for us to come back (since cleanings are not warrantied but only part replacements), and then would have had to pay for the part on top of that, The other companies that you spoke to cannot make a proper diagnosis of your flame sensor since they never saw the condition of the part, and are most likely trying to win your business. Not only did we do the right thing, you also now have a part that is warrantied by us for a year (where if anything goes wrong with that part, we will come back and replace it for free); on top of that we saved you money and hassle in the long run, and furthermore, it does not sound like we did a bad job since your unit continued to run through the winter. All in all, you received excellent service at an excellent value, and this negative review is both unwarranted and unfair to us."

"At G & R Heating and Air we pride ourselves on the quality of all of our work. After reviewing the quote and the job that was done, we found that the work was done as discussed in person and as specified in the quote. Not only that but the work was done 100% up to code and is working 100%. You will notice that nowhere in the above complaint does Mr (consumer name withheld at their request )say that there is a defect or problem with the work we did. The customer needed a section of his ductwork replaced and moved - this is exactly what we did. He was upset because his former ductwork is of a cheaper material and a different color than the ductwork we replaced it with. The ductwork we used to replace the old ductwork is actually of a higher material and grade. It is silver though, but is hidden in the joists in his basement ceiling so the aesthetics of the room are not diminished. We explained to him in person that if he wanted the whole duct run replaced, it would cost more money, and the customer said he preferred to stay under a certain price - we explained that in order to stay under his price, that we would just replace a section - the customer agreed. On top of doing the work exactly as described, and doing 100% up to code and working 100% correctly and efficiently, we also gave the customer a discount and price break on the job. After the work was finished, he demanded that we replace the entire duct run for him for free even though that was NEVER in his quote (which we have documentation of). Not much else I can say about this but that we do not deserve this review rating of half a star. We know we proceeded with honesty, integrity and quality on this job. We understand bad reviews come because sometimes people are human and sometimes make mistakes (but if that happens we always right our wrong even if it costs us), but it is disappointing and deceitfully damaging to get a bad review when you did not do anything wrong."
"I am glad that you were happy with your service! As far as the timing is concerned, it is our policy to always give our customers a 2 hour window just in case an earlier job is running later than expected. I am assuming that you were never informed of this window. I apologize on our behalf for this inconvenience, and I apologize that this window was not made known to you. I appreciate you taking the time to voice your concern as it allows us to address your concerns so that we can do better next time! If we are running later than the 2 hour window, it is then our policy to call and alert you to the delay. Since we were within this window, you did not receive a call. Thank you again for your business, and I am glad that the job was performed well (once we arrived) - and I do apologize that you were not properly informed of the 2 hour window."
