Hired Rene Home Improvement for a couple handyman jobs within the house (4 to be exact). Needed a new stairway in the basement installed. It was a challenging job in an old house, however, when the work was inspected by another inspection company, I was told that the balusters were not up to code. Now I have to hire/pay someone else to get them up to code. I was provided with receipts, however, they were always very vague and had to call him back to rewrite with more description and make them legible. There are other items that I could comment on, however, will not. At first he was good and fast and I thought reasonably priced, however over time I decided that I would not recommend him. In addition, he stopped returning our calls. If you hire him, I hope you have good luck.

Rene is easy to work with. He was flexible with accommodating his schedule around my tenant’s availability. We had to reschedule multiple times due to weather, but he dedicated himself to getting the job done. Good workmanship. I will use Rene again for other small and larger projects.

While trying to get our leaky bedroom windows addressed it was discovered that wood and dry wall in the walls were rotting and molded and the precious window repairmen did not want to put in windows with the walls in that condition, leaving us with a big job to be done and no windows in our bedroom with a forecast of rain on the way. We found and called Rene to help us with our emergency. He and his team swooped in recognizing the urgency of the situation and immediately jumped into the task of getting our windows replaced and fixing the walls which included, new framing for the windows, replacing the studs and new dry wall for the entire wall, and painting the wall. After learning that rain was expected earlier than initially predicted, they worked on the windows with lighting speed to make sure to beat the rain, which they did to our great relief. Throughout the job they were prompt, clean, and dedicated to getting the job done well and on time. Seeing their work ethic and how seriously they took their work, put us at ease after a very stressful situation. We have already called upon Rene to do more work for us as this job revealed he has expertise in a wide variety of areas. We definitely recommend him to others.
