Write a ReviewRecommendation for General Remodeling Group: Reliable, Quality Work I hired General Remodeling Group (GRG) for two major projects in my home: a kitchen and dining room remodel ($75k in 2016) and bathroom renovations ($55k in 2018). Visvydas and his team delivered dependable craftmanship, and IĆ¢ m still very satisfied with the results years later. Attention to Detail and Consistent Communication From start to finish, Visvydas kept me updated at every step with straightforward communication, making the whole process run smoothly. GRGs attention to detail also stood out they handled each punch list item promptly, completing everything to a high standard without cutting corners. In addition to my home, I also manage contractors at work, and I know this level of thoroughness is rare. Most contractors leave me frustrated with incomplete tasks, but with GRG, everything was done as it should be. For that reason alone, I feel compelled to recommend GRG, they get the job completed 100% without a fight! Skilled Team with Integrity and Flexibility GRG offers a flexible design-build approach, letting clients be as hands-on or hands-off as they prefer whether you want to make only the big decisions or get involved in the details. I was actively involved and appreciated how Visvydas collaborated with me, offering thoughtful advice and the chance to adjust along the way. Others I know who worked with GRG preferred less involvement and were equally happy with the outcome. They also brought in skilled subcontractors from masons and plumbers to electricians who truly know their craft. When I considered having GRG install new exterior doors and windows (over $100k), they recommended a specialist from another company, showing a real commitment to quality over profit. It reminded me of Miracle on 34th Street, where one shop suggests going to the competition to ensure customer satisfaction. Quality That Holds Up Over Time GRGs work included installing and modifying cabinetry that perfectly matched our kitchen design and detailed tiling that elevated our bathroom, and they performed major plumbing and electrical work without issue. We recently sold our home, and GRGs work still looked new. Even the home inspector praised their craftsmanship; the cabinets, tile, and plumbing looked and worked as if they were just installed. Their work clearly added value to our property. If you want quality work that stands the test of time, I highly recommend General Remodeling Group. GRG delivered for my family and friends, and even eight years later, we are grateful we chose them. PS I rarely see a contractor finish every punch list item 100%, but with GRG, it is like discovering unicorns are real. That alone makes them worth recommending.
We hired General Remodeling Group to renovate our DC home and add master bedroom and mudroom additions. They handled everything from the design and permitting (via their architect), to building the foundation, framing, additions, remodeling a bathroom, widening hallways, installing flooring, drywall, HVAC, electricity, plumbing, installing pavers outside and pouring concrete driveway, installing a wheelchair lift, and more. They handled unexpected setbacks well, communicated effectively during the project, and finished the project on-time and on-budget. I would definitely hire them again, and recommend them to anyone doing a home renovation or addition.
They were very forward thinking, they made great suggestions and for saw possible problems. They were a joy to work with.
This company is run by a man who knows good quality and his staff follows. He stands behind the work.
I have hired General Construction Millworks (also known as General Remodeling Group) twice now, both for renovations to my basement. Each renovation involved several components, including planning/remodeling, obtaining local permits, demolition, wall framing, drywall repair, electrical work, plumbing, installing flooring, painting, and more. The first job I hired them for was 4 years ago...they completely remodeled the family room side of my basement, completely removing some stairs and replacing them with new ones, along with a complete renovation of that room and attached areas. Then recently, this year in 2019, I hired them to renovate the other side of my basement, which is the laundry room, storage, and 1/2 bath side, in which they installed cabinetry, flooring, moved some plumbing, installed a sump pump with battery back up, and more. I have worked with several contractors, specialists, and handyman services, and my experience with this company has by far been the best. I find them to have competitive and fair pricing, they are honest and transparent about the work they do, and they follow all local codes and best practices. They also involve the homeowner in all issues and decisions. Like any relationship, the client still has to be clear about their expectations and follow up on their concerns along the way - and this company is very good about working with their clients. I found their customer service to be top notch, especially the head contractor I worked with, I had his cell number the whole time and he was very responsive to calls and texts. He made sure our project met the expectations we outlined in our contracts/agreements. Their work ethic is great, their pricing is competitive and fair, their quality of workmanship top-notch, and their customer service is outstanding. I can not recommend them enough.
Very attentive to process and the design and the needs of the customer.
We hired them to complete some painting on the interior of the apartment and to complete some tile work. They also did some minor electrical work as well. They pay attention to all my requests and were very proactive and identified some issues themselves. They were very good.
I have always been very happy with their response time and quality. They are very responsive and stay within budget. I can always count on them.
Vidas is wonderful and the project came out very well. we are very happy with the work and would recommend General Remodeling to others. We may in fact hire them for more work in our house. Very reliable, good attention to detail, reasonable market prices.
General Remodeling Group has, so far, acted as a partner in this remodeling project. They are technically very competent and, faced with ineffectiveness in the participation of the architect we hired, have taken on their role, "free of charge." Their General Manager "Vidas" is a "Renaissance Man" in his multifaceted involvement. He acts as the customer service rep, a business manager, a work coordinator, a flexible scheduler, an architect, a designer and a psychologist. He has turned a very stressful situation into an enriching experience. The project is currently just a little past demolition but it is going fast.
