Drain Clog or Blockage Clearing
$600
I called regarding a backed up sink. They came the next morning on time. They looked at the sink and call a drain guy who didn't show up until late afternoon. They replace the pipes under the sink saying they were micky mouse, I feel this was needless but my wife approved the repair. If the company didn't repair drains why didn't they say so, instead the came to my house performed a needless repair and called a drain company. Not only will I not use the plumbing company.

Very good service and quick, but very expensive. Their process made it difficult for me to compare their costs before I committed to using them.

I had been told I needed my furnace completely replaced. They fixed it by tweaking one wire and it's working perfectly. Couldn't be happier.

Water Heater Installation and Replacement
$1,100
I just recently had some plumbing done, because of a leak in my bathroom. I hired another plumbing company, and when they saw the work that General Plumbing had done in installing my water gas heater, they were stunned. GP&H, Corp. had not installed the temperature and pressure relief valve with the heater, and they had not even lined the vent which connects the heater to the wall. In other words, Carbon Monoxide was seeping through the basement because GP&H had not done their job properly. I won't ever hire GP&H again. And as far as their personality: the guy who came by was quite curt and rude the entire time.

He was very thorough and was able to diagnose and fix a problem that two previous repair persons were not. I was very happy with the service.

The workmen were prompt, the price was fair, and I will call them the next time I have a heating or plumbling problem.

They quoted me a price of $58 to come out about 5 minutes after I submitted the request at servicemagic. They came on time and communicated to me the whole time. The guy that came was very curt and snobby, he worked for about 30 minutes, told me that the electrical connection to the heater wasn't working, charged me $203 and left without fixing the problem. I was told over the phone that the $58 would go towards the labor charge of $145 (which hourly is something like $290, a ridiculous figure), but that didn't seem to be the case. I was also told over the phone that $58 would be the charge if nothing was fixed. I'll never use them again.

They contacted me early in the morning and said someone could be by later that morning. Also agreed to waive the $58 service charge if I didn't go with them. Finally came by my house later that afternoon after pushing the time back twice and by that time it was too late in the day to do the work that could have been done that day. But they said they'd come by first thing the following day. However they called that morning and pushed that time back again to later in the afternoon instead, at which time the work was completed. The office folks were nice and responsive but constantly changing the work time was very inconvenient.

Drain Clog or Blockage Clearing
The initial cost of $278.00 was exorbitantly out of line.I refused to agree to that price; the cost was brought down to $195. I still thought this was way out-of-line to just free up a small sink obstruction, accomplished in less than 10 minutes with a blowing instrument. I had left work and did not want to start from square one again; I consented and paid the $195.00.

Drain Clog or Blockage Clearing
I was desperate to have this finished so I hired the first business to call. The cost was my own fault, since the cost was their standard basic charge, and it turns out it was a simple procedure I could have done on my own. Also though he came within the window specified, it was very near the end - not late, but not early either.

General Plumbing was awful, couldn't fix anything, didn't have the necessary parts and left a muddy mess in my bathroom. They charged me just to come out and assess the situation. This charge was to be applicable towards future work, however when I chose the lower priced of their options it suddenly couldn't be applied to that.

Job type, toilet and water heater replacement. Very prompt in arranging estimates and starting the job. Gave good estimate according to fair market value. Project was completed a little bit behind schedule. Could be a little cleaner. Overall they did a good job.
