Central A/C Installation
I had a very bad experience with these clowns. They installed know-brand Mini Split Heat Pump (ductless) in my addition. Will (I assume the owner) was pleasant at first when he came out to quote the job. That is pretty much a very good experience ends and the nightmare begins. Two different guys showed up to do the work unprepared for the job. One of the two was in training and appeared to be clueless pretty much about everything (I might add) the entire time. The other one (licensed HVAC technician I assume) was more experienced. That said, I do not think that experienced one installed many (if any up to that point) ductless mini-split systems. One would think that someone who does this kind of job would show up with unnecessary tools to do the job. First, they did not have a stud finder. So I had to find some pictures (taken during addition construction) to see where the studs/beams are. Then with my recommendations, we used a window nearby as a reference point trying to figure out where to install the bracket for the wall (inside) unit and drill the hole for the line set. Secondly, the hole they cut in the wall for the line set was too small. The apprentice was trying really hard to force the lines through the hole at first. After a few minutes when I realized what was going on I asked him how big the hole is. Soon as he said 2 inches (ca. 5 cm) I knew that hole was too small and that it had to be 3 inches (ca. 8 cm). I knew this because I have installed one of these units myself a few years earlier. The sleeve (part of the accessory) that goes in the wall they did not have with them and therefore did not install it. In addition, line set covers that go on the exterior wall were not installed straight at first. Let me be clear, that thing was extremely crooked and really noticeable. Furthermore, they did not have enough covers to complete the job and had to come back the next day. So, after I complained about it, they used the opportunity to somewhat straighten the line cover, which left many unnecessary holes in brand-new vinyl siding. The AC worked for about two weeks then it completely stopped cooling in the middle of summer. To make things worse, the unit was not even running every day because it is located in the addition which is usually not used during the week. I have emailed them about the issue. The technician came out the next day, fixed the leak (or, so I thought) - apparently outside connection on the condenser had to be adjusted, recharged the unit, all free of charge since the unit and installation was still under warranty. Fast-forward a few months, when the heating season started, occasionally heat was used. The unit started showing bad signs again. Every once in awhile it would start making some weird noise at times for several seconds which indicates either air in the lines and/or not enough refrigerant in the system. But wait, it gets worse. Another 6 months go by and inside the unit starts falling apart. The housing of the inside unit started to deteriorate in some areas and crumble into small pieces, literally. What caused this you might ask? Well, installation gone wrong. Line set connection was made inside the unit and it turned out had a small leak. Over time, refrigerant seeped down and damaged the plastic housing where it made contact. Even metal wall bracket rusted in one area. Had the installer connected the line set outside (as installation instruction show) the damage to the inside unit would never happen. So, now I am left with no help from the installer who screwed up big time and $1500 extra in expense since the inside unit needs to be replaced.

Tech did a great job and was very informative, short notice as well. Only issue was the cost. I thought the price was too high. $225 for the first hour for labor? total cost was $315 and i have a feeling that this service won't fix the problem.
Response from Georges Heating and Cooling
"Hi James, I agree with you, things now a days of value often cost a little more then they used too. Our company strives on efficiency, excellence, along with making every customer our number one priority. Although we will not always be the cheapest price, I think you will find that our track record proves us to be the lower cost long term. Some of our competition might be able to give you a cheaper price, only to have to return 2-3 times and to charge you the same cheap rate on multiple call backs. Intern in the long run sometimes the cheaper price ends up really costing twice as much as our one time cost. Our flat rates are based off of"

The project was started within a week of approval. Although the installation was challenging, the team completed it on time and advised us of a separate problem which they fixed. Workmanship was top notch - area was left clean - very pleased with the results!

They removed my defective unit and installed the new one and we checked it out. They also obtained the new unit for me because of my health issues. It is a job well done.
