Barry did outstanding work. He is the master of all trades and kept communication lines open. Barry took care of permits and inspection. Every day he left, the basement was cleaned and ready for us to poke around to see what was going on. We never had to call him back to fix anything heâ d done because it was right the first time. Barry gave us valuable input and never complained when we made changes during the project. We 100% recommend Barry Gibb.

Gibb Development is hands down the best contractor I have ever worked with. Barry, the owner is amazing at what he does. He's done well over 2500 basements in Loudoun. He's been doing this so long that the inspectors turn to him for advice and know him by name. And here's the thing. He's at the point of his career where this is basically a hobby for him to keep busy. What does that mean to you. You have someone doing their job, that LOVES their job. They don't compromise on quality. And won't accept an employee that doesn't see it the same way. It's a do it right, or don't do it mentality. No shortcuts. Also, he knows what adds value to your home and what doesn't. And he'll tell you so. You may want to do something. And he'll do it. But he'll also tell you that you're wasting your money. He knows what will show up in your appraisal and what won't. And what adds value and what doesn't Here's another thing. He's not going to ask you your budget. Why? It isn't relevant. He'll tell you the price it's going to cost for what you want done. Huge difference. How many contractors ask your budget up front and then try to cut corners or hit you with some hidden cost half way through? Not Gibb Development. You want this done, this is what it costs. We screw something up in the middle, that's on us, not you. What you can afford should have nothing to do with what it costs to get done. And he's efficient. My job from start to finish. About 900 sq foot basement including a full bath took 4 weeks with inspections. Which is another red flag. Never hire a contractor that either says you don't need inspections or wants you to pull the permits. Last and maybe most important, Barry the owner is human. He loves to talk and seems to genuine enjoy meeting new people. He respects all people and all views. He has his own, but he loves to hear what you have to say about anything and isn't judgmental. Very rare indeed. And I didn't even know this guy a couple months ago. Now he seems like an old friend. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Communication, speed, and quality of workmanship were excellent.

Barry is the owner and was very easy to work. He did high quality work and we'd be happy to work with him again. I liked that he was the one here doing the work and here while other work was being performed. He was the POC on all aspects. There was no dealing with subcontractors.

We had our basement refinished and Barry was great to work with. Communicated very well throughout the whole process. Easy to reach by phone, text and email. He was personally on the job at our house each day work was being done. I fully trusted him to access our home whenever he needed to whether we were home or not. I I would highly recommend Barry for any refinishting, plumbling or electrical work you are looking to do.
