"I am compelled to respond to this review since it is extremely misleading. When I first spoke to (consumer name withheld per their request) in August I asked him to submit an inventory on-line, since he was too busy to meet with me. Once the inventory was received, I sent him an estimate, which he accepted. I explained to him that after the loading of his belongings onto our truck, the items would be unloaded from our truck and then be stored in crates while in our warehouse. The storage crates are even line-itemed on the confirmation letter he signed. The day before the move he called to say that he just purchased more furniture and he wanted these items moved and stored as well. I explained that these additional items will probably increase the scope of work and price. I suggested bringing a smaller 2nd truck to be safe. (consumer name withheld per their request) declined this option.Once we loaded the truck, there were items left over (as I had discussed with (consumer name withheld per their request) the previous day). Our only option was to load the items into an employee's minivan since we were doing our best to accommodate our customer.. (consumer name withheld per their request)did not object to this solution. As for the move from storage, Mr. Cole WAS NOT over charged $700 and I explained every figure and answered every question he had once the move was completed. He asked me how he knew the $700 of labor was needed to load the truck since he was not there. I told him he had every right to be there if he had wanted to but this request was never asked by him. He also did not pay $220 per hour. This was the rate before his Home Advisor discount, which was also explained to him. In fact, the invoice from his move into storage and the invoice from storage were within $18 of one another. As for the "checking off" process, all customers have the option of asking the crew to call out the item numbers to ensure that all belongings are delivered. This is a standard procedure within the moving industry. There were 2 items missing (a box & a fake plant). I asked (consumer name withheld per their request) to give me some time to look around our storage facility for these items. At no point did I say this may take 90 days. But, I did tell (consumer name withheld per their request) that if he had questions for me and wanted an update to call me directly. I even gave him my cell phone number. With regards to my guys and cell phones, they use their phones to listen to music while they work. I do the same when I'm working with our crews. Not sure why that is a problem. During the entire move process (from August to November), all representatives of our company were forthright and honest with (consumer name withheld per their request) and swift to answer any emails/phone calls/ questions he may have had. While the move was not perfect (as we would have liked), it was far from a disaster. Sean Suntum Golden Rule Moving, LLC"
