We were very, very fortunate to find West Roofing (owner: Joe Elady). They did an outstanding job on with the replacement of our 16 Unit building's 10000 Sqft roof. The rains from earlier in the year has caused water damaged in multiple units and owners were very anxious to replace the roof before the rain season starts again. The roof vetting process was very discouraging. Contactors were either too busy to entertain a new project, their process seemed lacking and unclear, flaky with appointment commitments, or bids left us exposed for surprise costs that could occur during the roof replacement process. After 4 months of searching we found West Roofing. Our patience paid off. At this time we were very experienced at the vetting process. We met with the owner, Joe Elady, three times. He had the patience to listen, took the time to clearly explain what would be done to our roof and exactly what materials would be used. He was both easy to talk to, and understand. Also, Joe was accessible throughout the job from beginning to end. He and his crew where very professional, considerate of the neighbors, and cleaned up the area after each day. I called 2 local roofers I found in the Yellow pages. Both gave well-defined estimates and both tried to get me to sign the contract immediately because they had "another crew in the area" that they could reposition quickly. (I did not fall for this comment.) Based on a referral from a friend I called West Roofing and spoke with Art. I told him the size of my roof and that I had contacted 2 other roofing companies. He said "Well, I can save you a lot of money." It turned out he was correct. It turns out that roofing material and procedures are controlled by both the state and local municipality; this means a permit is required to re-roof a home, there are specific requirements for materials, and a final inspection is required. So there isn't much difference in the end result, regardless of who does the job. I chose West Roofing because their price was about $7,000.00 less than the other proposals I got. They used the same level of roofing material, underlayment, flashing, etc. as the other companies, and the job was done in 2 days by a competent crew who cleaned up everything very well. The final inspection was complete with no problems - after the city inspector arrived about 5 hours late (of course.) Needless to say, I highly recommend West Roofing. If you need to re-roof you'll save time and $ by calling them first.

My roof was about 25 years old, and very brittle, so I figured I had better have it replaced before another winter came around. I got three bids, all from good companies that I am sure would have been fine, but West Roofing came out on top. Their bid was a little lower than the others, but Joe, the owner, is what set West Roofing apart. He explained everything very clearly, including their use of a peel and stick high performance water barrier underlay, which the other companies did not offer. Once the work got started, everything went very smoothly. The crew was fast and efficient and did a great job of cleaning up after each day. I recommend West Roofing to anyone!

West Roofing came to us on the strong recommendation of our neighbors who had used him for two different complex roofing jobs on older houses. Joe gave us a fast turn around and started work within days after we signed our contract. His communication with clients excellent. He took time to review our concerns and explained everything clearly which was reflected in his contract. He was easy to reach and a joy to work with. I want to add that Joe was honest and forthcoming in his bid. He told us that there would be no surprise fees or extras once his crew started working on our house, and he kept to that agreement. I also want to share that he understands the aesthetics of older homes and works with you to restore your roof so it honors and improves those historic qualities. West Roofing came exactly when they said they would. They used laser leveling to repair sags and restore the slope and the rotted sub-roof as well as added a very needed additional drain. They installed all new scuppers and flashing as well. The crew worked tirelessly through a heatwave and completed the job on time. They were conscientious, pleasant and always gracious. I'm not sure you could really ask for anything more. Joe followed up with us to make sure that everything met our expectations and provided us with everything we need to get our LADWP Cool Roof program rebate. So far we have recommended West Roofing to two of our friends.

West Roofing was recommended to us by our realtor, and so after getting a few estimates we went ahead and hired Joe and his team to fully replace our badly aging roof. From the first phone call to the final inspection, our experience with Joe was smooth and easy. He went above and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied. The roof looks amazing, no doubt, but what stood out to us was his extreme professionalism. He is polite and friendly, and he genuinely cares about his clients. He threw in a few extras that were not a part of the original contract, like adding in a section of gutter that was missing from the house. He was diligent about making sure the property was cleaned from nails and debris and he paid meticulous attention to the finishing details on the roof. We really appreciated the service, and we do not hesitate to offer our highest recommendation to anyone considering using him.

Joe showed up within 30 minutes of talking to me. He is one, maybe the only, honest roofing business owner left. I told him about other quotes I had received and he didn't understand what they could possibly do for what they were going to charge me for a roof leak. He has gained a new customer for life. I want to refer people to him but the only person I know with a damaged roof had it fixed already, please call West Roofing and give them a shot at your business. If you want an honest business that is prompt and hard working call West Roofing! If extra ratings were available for honesty I would give them!

During Bidding Joe told us exactly what would happen, brought materials to show us and gave us samples to pick colors. Once the work started everything went as planned. He was onsite regularly to check on progress and responded well to any suggestions.

It went great! I had met with 7 other roofing companies and when I met with Joe Elady-West Roofing I knew he was the one. He was straight forward, honest, friendly, and I really respected his experience with roofing. He immediately understood the scope of the project and the challenges we were up against. We needed to start from scratch because the roof that was installed 12 yrs prior on our Brentwood home was done incorrectly. They were pretty amazing from beginning to end. The person to came out initially to provide the estimate. There are 2 other companies that did not even come close, they were less and less. Not complete, and not able to do the job. They did a great job, I think it's a great price. I had no complaints and it is a big big job in a long time coming. I would highly recommend them. Incredibly great experience overall! They set a specific timeline and price and adhered to it perfectly. The people involved were all incredibly friendly and easy to work with. I was presented with an array of choices and never pressured. Just a very good vibe and the roof looks beautiful. I have already recommended them to a neighbor.
