Drywall - Install
I hired Jay to do a drywall install, finish, and painting. The quote was extremely low (redflag). Then hurricane Ida hit. After back and forth interaction Jay came by said he needed a down payment (red flag). Gave him a check for $500. The day before he is to start he calls saying he cannot find Sheetrock any where from here to Texas. Two days later he calls and says he found some in Texas but the price would go up by $1100. Gave him go ahead to go get it (big mistake). Next day went to Lowes in New Iberia and all I see is drywall everywhere! Talked to a Lowes employee and asked if they were out of Sheetrock and she stated they never ran out. That is when I got angry! After several back and forth through texts I told him I would get someone else to do the job and I wanted my down payment back. He said it was in the mail. I am still waiting for it.
