Kevin Grace's Authorized Appliance Repair

I contracted this company to repair a whirlpool dryer unit back on 3/10/2008 in my rental property. When the repair person came out to do the repair he did not have the parts on hand. He indicated that he would need to special order the parts to do the repair. The repair person then told me that he would have the parts in a few days and would complete the repair then. The company seemed trustworthy and I was headed out of town so I went ahead and wrote them a check for $199.95 to do the repairs in advance. Well a few days turned into a few weeks and then a few months. As of this day he has not repair my dryer. I eventually had to call Sear Home Repair to do the repair. I had a tenant living in the home and could not make him wait any longer. Well, my real problem came with this company when I tried to contact them for my money back do to them never doing the repairs. They would not return my calls and when I did get through they indicated the check would be in the mail and not to worry. Well as to this day and after about 25 calls to them they still have not returned my money. These guys are pure thieves. Any business that would take from their customers should loose their license and not be in business (if they even have a license) ...Stay far away from these guys. I am now seeking legal help to get my money back.

I was impressed with the rapidity of the call from Kevin upon my request for service. Before I even wrote down the names of the service companies, he called and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. He was courteous but not over friendly, however, he did know his stuff. I found this to be a good experience and will call him again.

Kevin Grace responded to my job request promptly and showed up on time for his appointment. I was shocked to discover the reason my disposal was not working was due to the fact that it was unplugged! While this is a no brainer to an appliance pro, this is not common knowledge to the average homeowner. I didn't even know the appliance used a plug. I thought it was hardwired. As such, it would have been nice Kevin could have asked some simple troubleshooting questions over the phone thus avoiding a trip to my home and charging me $50 for the 15 seconds he spent at my home. His condescending attitude was not appreciated.

Responsive and knowledgable

Service was acceptable. However, I was not informed until after the service had been completed that this individual did not accept credit or debit cards. I was unprepared for this and find it surprising that any company would expect a customer to have over 500.00 in cash on hand without prior notification. I was told that invoicing or any other alternative was not acceptable. I do not feel as though this was handled well and it will discourage me from recommending this individual or using them again.

Kevin is professional but extremely busy. He does answer his phone, but never called me when he was on his way to my house as he promised. This caused confusion and caused me to miss his first visit to take care of the problem, making what could've been a 2-3 day period of finishing the job into an extended 2 week ordeal. Once on the job, he went out of his way to thoroughly fix the problem. My only complaint is that he seems unable to call his customers when he is on his way. As everyone's lives are complicated, the courtesy of calling would've enabled me to work nearby and not have to wait endlessly at home for him on occasion.

My dishwasher was repaired.

Even though he did not find anything wrong with my appliance, I was confortable with it knowing that he spent quite a bit of time going over it and trying to make the appliance re-create the situation. I would definately use them again.

Kevin answered my service request within two minutes of placing it online, was on time for the appointment, quickly analyzed the problem and gave me a couple of options for fixing the problem. He was extremely helpful in telling me how the problem occurred and how to avoid the issues in the future. This system is a wonderful relief after years of trying to get service professionals to your house for quick repairs on necessary appliances. Thank you!
