Grangers painting and handyman services

This experience started out great. Matthew was good about responding to my texts regarding the  project and was flexible with the price, which I genuinely appreciated right before Christmas. However, as soon as I closed on the house and told Matthew he could begin the project, nothing went according to plan. He started 2 days after he said he would. Every time I stopped by the house, he was either gone or leaving but the progress of the project never seemed to be moving. I had to cancel and postpone other services for the house because of all the delays. Matthew never reached out to me to let me know of any issues that would cause delay and I only became aware of said issues when I reached out to him to make sure everything was still on track (and it never was), and that was if he texted me back at all. The last day he was working, he sent me a number of hostile text messages accusing me of not paying him and reporting "all the extra work" he had put into my home. He also kept bringing up the "contract" I signed, stating I owed him money for material, however the contract I signed clearly stated Grangers Painting would provide all labor and material with no material drop collected since I agreed to pay him in full when I got an allowance check from the previous owner. None of the "extra work" is accounted for via receipts or hours spent working, and is definitely not noticed in the quality of the work. I payed him his check and once he had payment, he left my walls streaked and unfinished. He also refused to answer any texts or calls from myself and my boyfriend to inquire about finishing the project. Very unprofessional. I would never recommend to anyone needing a job done well, especially on a time line. I can back all of these claims with photos of my home and screenshots of texts and contract.

He was professional, got the work done accordingly to how we wanted it! Would definitely hire him again
