My mom has cancer. I called David Ebert about a tree that was dying too. He came out with his helper and did excellent work trimming out the dead limbs and then didn't charge a dime. He told me to "buy my mom a nice dinner" God bless young men like this. Ken Murphy former Payson Mayor

Tree Trimming
$3,000
We hired David for our vacation home in Payson, After speaking with him on the phone he explained he had worked with a master arborist for 8 years so we trusted him with the issues we were having at our property. At the onset, he was extremely responsive and followed through on the work we had discussed regarding removing the large tree that had split during the snowstorm, and trimming a number of the dead branches off of other trees at the property. When I saw the work he had completed I asked why the trunk of the tree in the middle of our yard was oddly cut at a sharp angle. He explained it was to direct the fall of the tree, which completely made sense. He said he intended to come back and cut the stump off so it was straight. That was never done. Regarding the trimming, the dead branches and limbs from the trees, at least 1/2 did not get cut. He stated it would hamper the growth of the branches. The conversation was over the phone so I did not want to argue with him, but that was not accurate. Our home in Phoenix was built in 1932 and sits on an acre of original farmland downtown. We have enormous trees original to the property and have lived here for over 25 years. After hiring and learning from several different arborists, we have become well versed in understanding the dynamics of tree trimming and feeding. The last half dozen storms have since broken branches that were not trimmed and done additional damage that could have been avoided if it had been done properly at the onset. Prior to the damage occurring, my husband went ahead and hired him to install sprinklers for the number of fruit trees on our Payson property. That turned into a complete nightmare. Each head was installed at a different height even though the were all in a line; the heads were never adjusted and were not put on a timer; all of which was the reason he was hired for the job, to begin with. We now have to go into the well house in order to use any of the hoses attached to a spigot, which now turns on all the sprinklers he installed at the same exact time. I am confused about how we managed to be worse off than when we started this project. Two of the heads leak constantly, and after numerous attempts to get him back to fix the problems, we finally hired someone else entirely. (Who inadvertently had to redo all the work done by David.) We were told repeatedly he would be coming back to finish, but it seemed like we were always having to chase him down to make sure he would be there, but there was always some reason he could not make it at the last minute. To his credit, both he and his pregnant wife worked very hard when they initially came taking care of weeds and mowing the lawn. He is a nice guy with a limited skill set, of which proper tree trimming and installing irrigation lines are not included in that. Would not rehire, would not recommend.
