Green Acres Ironworks, Inc. specializes in designing and fabricating unique, handcrafted metal products. It is a privately owned company based in Green Acres, Indiana and services Northwest Indiana, Southeast Illinois and Chicago for installed items or can ship particular items to any location. As President of Green Acres Ironworks, Inc., Erik Dworak, has had a passion for construction since a very young age building his first table and chairs at the age of four. Erik's propensity for building became a common theme in his life which lead to him receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University in 2001. Over the years Erik's passion grew towards custom metal work and fabrication while providing work for custom built homes and large commercial projects down to the most detailed ornamental designs. First job went well. Second request for another job was lack of responsibility, lack of communication. We partially agreed on a price based on photos sent out but he never followed through and I left a total of 15 texts and phone messages without even a returned phone call. First job he was quite a gentleman and second attempt to hire him for work was the exact opposite.

Though our work load is exponentially larger, and the majority of our work is much larger these days, we do still service small custom project like yours. Designing the project was great. Erik was easy to work with and we're really happy with how it turned out. Unfortunately, the initial install was done incorrectly and they had to come back and fix several things. We're happy with it now, but would have appreciated them getting it right the first time.

I must say Erik was one of the most cordial professionals I've ever hired. He answered every question and gave me more than one option to fix my porch railing. They removed it, repaired it and when they returned, fixed a couple of things before replacing. I would recommend this company to everybody.

Erik was great to work with. He provided lots of samples for me to choose from for my front steps metal railing. He and his team did a wonderful job installing the railing and even took down the temporary railing that was mounted for the purposes of home inspection. Most importantly, he did what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it. That is tough to find these days! Thank you!

Their work was sub par! The railings were not sand blasted smooth, the painted finish was terrible and rough and the railings began rusting the first time it rained! The company came out once to retouch the paint wherever it was rusting. The second time it rusted again within a week, they came out touched up the paint and then left the paint can on our steps with a note telling us to retouch our own paint implying that they would not return. Since then they won't even answer our phone calls or return calls when a message is left. The work was not performed to standards that they expressed to us and the paint they used scratches off very easily pointing out the fact that the metal below was not prepared properly. Poor work and even worse customer service!

I had a iron gate put in the entryway between my house and garage. I was very pleased with the professionalism of the men and how everything was explained to me. The gate was hand made and beautifully done. The job was completed in the time quoted. Upon installation the gate fit perfectly and was put in quickly with no problems at all. I would gladly hire this company again for my fencing and iron refinishing needs. They were very polite and a pleasure to deal with!

Hi hired Erik and his crew to replace my metal handrails which were rotted out. He came out to my house and showed me the different types of metal and then explained the pricing and length of time it would take to complete the project. Once I made a decision, he sent me diagrams of what they would look like. Very happy with my new handrails. Adds "curb appeal" to my home.

The only reason the project took so long was the rainy weather. Erik was terrific. He explained everything well and the work was really great. Given the amount of repair and painting (fence surrounds our entire house, in addition to the back metal stairs) I think the price was quite reasonable.
