Blown In Insulation Install or Upgrade
Matt and Jen of GreenHome Doctors are absolutely wonderful. Matt's knowledge of science informs his expertise in helping solve issues related to insulation and air sealing. We had horrendous ice dams on our south Minneapolis home for many years. Insulation installed by other companies did not address the problem. Matt thoroughly assessed the situation, spent an enormous amount of time making sure we understood how it could be addressed, and we've been incredibly happy with the results. This past winter was dramatically different in terms of our home's temperature and comfort and was worry free when it came to ice dams. Really can't say enough good things about them. Highly recommended.

Green Home Doctors was great...until they were not. Matt was earnest and knowledgeable. He was one of the few vendors who would commit to filling gaps in exterior wall insulation through the home interior. They did this quickly and efficiently, for two floors plus my attic stairwell--plus spray-foaming my rim joist--for a fair price. But. They talked about sealing my very drafty front door. I would pay $95 for it, then he never did it. I tried texting Matt, and it took 2-3 texts for every update I got. He could not find the materials. Then he did. Then he did not after all. Then silence. Ten messages worth over a year. Then a message he would move out of state. I asked for that portion of my money back and got nothing. I think the pandemic and life upheaval might have proved too much for this business to follow through on details. If you are just getting stuff blown in or sprayed, go for it. But anything more? Avoid Green Home Doctors.

Spray Foam Insulation Installation
We're so thankful for Green Home Doctors. We decided to build an above ground addition. Obviously, living in Minnesota, we were very concerned about keeping the addition warm during the winter months. Our drawings called for a minimum of R40 insulation in the floor cavity. Matt, from Green Home Doctors is concerned about the environment and he also really knows insulation. He does an excellent job of explaining the best products for our addition and why. Not only did the Green Home Doctors spray foam insulation under the structure and apply mineral wool which built up the R value to 42 in the floor, they wrapped the plumbing pipes before doing it for added protection! They sprayed foam all over the attic and covered it with cellulose to get the R value up to R50. For the walls, they sprayed foam between all studs and then, even caulked between the studs! The inspector said he had never seen that before! They didn't just get in and get out like many insulation companies do. Green Home Doctors really made us feel like they cared about what they're doing and more specifically, about us. Thank you Matt and team!

I had an inspection where they found moisture in the attic around the fireplace brick. They said it just needed caulking around the outside edge. They also insulated the attic. We are still finding our ceiling paint bubbles from moisture coming in. I have called many times and left many messages in the last 4 weeks and have not heard a word from this company. I am wondering if they have gone out of business. I would like them to come out and take a look at their work to give me an idea of what they can do about the moisture.

"This is a project done 5 years ago, in 2014. It is unfortunate there is water now coming in from the outside, but this is an issue that should be handled by a roofing company. Water dribbling in from the outside during the rain is an issue with the flashing, not the insulation. Water dribbling down your chimney indicates a gap in the flashing outside and should be corrected with roofing sealant."

Matt did all exterior walls (from the inside), and I can feel and hear the difference! The prep work to ensure that the proper job was done for my house was great, and Matt's excitement and passion for the field is extremely apparent. I loved the pre-work proposal with all details. This really helped when I was going through various options. In the end, Matt's expertise and product quality sealed the deal.

Matt and his crew spent considerable time in identifying and sealing problem areas that were responsible for heat loss into my attic prior to adding additional insulation. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a complete analysis and solution to your insulation/ventilation problems.

I hired them to insulate an attic space above a 30 year old addition to my house which has been cold in the winer and hot in the summer since I bought the house. Brandy and her team arrived on time and did the work totally properly. I was very pleased. The two rooms under that attic are much warmer now. I highly recommend them!

Green Home Doctors' service was timely and efficient. They came when they were scheduled, were courteous and respectful of our household situation (cats) and time frame. They are conscious of one's carbon footprint and use environmentally safe products - which is the main reason I hired them. They got right to work and didn't waste time. I was very impressed with the thorough cleanup and would definitely recommend them. Now I just have to wait till the cold weather hits to see the difference the insulation makes but, I'm happy to wait!

I had gotten a bid from Home Depot and it was less expensive however I liked Jeremy's presentation better and they seemed more thorough than Home Depot. They were done with the job within 9 days and were great! I would highly recommend them to anyone.
