Lowest of 3 estimates for grass for a small yard and brick arraignment around 2 trees. Great customer service and job well done.

Project: Install Sod
This company is terrible to work with. Victor was great at first although when problems started to arise he refused to come back out to my house to check things out. The crew he hired did not even scalp the old grass all the way down and laid the new sod on top of some of the old grass and I had all sorts of weeds growing through. I had to call them back out numerous times and some of my newer lawn is still dead (they replaced some but Victor never came back out to check for himself after I told him that a lot of other new grass is dead). I love spending $10,000 on a project and having other landscapers tell me Victors watering instructions are causing some fungus (he had me over watering). I will never use this company again, what a joke. Again, Victor seemed nice but would not come back out himself and speak with my face to face.

I needed a total lawn makeover. The strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street was infested with Dallisgrass and my regular lawn had a bunch too, as well as a mix of Bermuda and St. Augustine that was pretty ugly. Had a couple guys come over and give me quotes. Victor's from Green Lawn was the second lowest and he was very responsive so I went with him. I was pretty concerned when he told me that they don't till the yard, they only weed-eat it down and cover it with topsoil, then lay the new grass on top but he assured me that since the grass and weeds below would not get sun it would die off. I consented and got the appointment set up. On the day of, the grass(St. Augustine) got there 4 hours before the crew as they were running late which was not a big deal. It was not very fresh, but I was assured by what seemed like the main guy on the crew that it was "good enough" and that it would green up nicely. They showed up with a total of 6 bags of topsoil (like the small bags of timberline soil from a store) which was supposed to be for the whole yard and then proceeded to ask me for string for their weed eaters since they were out. Really? Then they had to run out for some new string. The installation itself was pretty quick, they only used topsoil on some parts of the lawn. Fast forward a couple of weeks, the lawn did in fact green up nicely. The only thing is that all the Dallisgrass came through and so did the Bermuda so now I still a bunch of Dallisgrass that I have to pull and an unappealing mix of two different types of grasses in some areas, just a bit greener. I tried calling them out to advise me on how I can get rid of the Dallisgrass or to get them to fix it since they offer a 6 month guarantee, but I have waited 3 weeks and they keep either avoiding or having a busy schedule which was totally different from how they treated me before hand. Now I spend literally 20 minutes a day hand pulling Dallisgrass, dealing with a lawn that's 3 inches higher that before, and just live with my grass mix, which I could've just done since the beginning and avoided spending 850 bucks. I would maybe hire them if I was just working with a patch of dirt, but if you want to replace a lawn that has weeds or a different type of grass before, beware. Update: They have since come out and pulled a lot of the Dallisgrass out and put some treatment on the lawn. It still comes up but I only have to pull it weekly. The Bermuda still comes through where it was originally growing but I'm hopeful that the St Augustine will eventually beat it out. I think I would still go with someone who would till the lawn but I appreciated their effort to make things right.
Response by Green Lawn of Texas - Dallas, LLC: Good afternoon Anthony. I appreciate your message. We have made several trips out to offer support by hand pulling the weeds to make you happy. Upon completion of our last weed pull service you advised you would re-review. Please take some time to complete this for us as we value the reviews. Lawns in Texas require maintenance to include mowing, watering, and fertilization with weed control. We provide organic fertilization and weed control services and are happy to offer you an annual plan that can support your lawn with reduction in future airborne weeds attacking your lawn. Please reach out to me on my personal cell phone with update.

The first batch of sod they laid was horrible and of very bad quality but the were quick to acknowledge the defective sod and promptly pulled it up and laid down fresh, green sod.
