"Green Top Lawn Care values all of our customers & takes pride in maintaining extremely high customer satisfaction rates. We are disappointed that the circumstances did not allow us to preserve a business relationship with Jim D., despite all of our efforts. Green Top Lawn Care is well known for going above & beyond for their customers, including this customer. When we started servicing Jim D.?s lawn, mid-March 2016, it had yellowing in the front & a significant amount of weeds, including hard-to-control weeds like spurge. In an email dated 7-26-2016 he discussed his preexisting lawn conditions starting about 2 years prior, & that the lawn care company he had then tried everything they knew to fix the problem, unsuccessfully. His e-mail led to Green Top Lawn Care?s horticulturist visit in early August 2016. We suggested a soil test. This turned out to be very important, showing his soil pH level was extremely high, a cause of the yellowing to his lawn. During that visit the customer said that other than the preexisting problem area the rest of the lawn looked great & was growing so well he was considering having it mowed twice a week. Our horticulturist?s consultation was free of charge & the soil test was billed at our cost. We treated his lawn on schedule ten times during the 14 months he was a customer. Additionally, we provided extra treatments between services on 8/2/2016 & 9/19/2016 at no charge. We also did multiple sulfur treatments on 12/12/2016, 1/28/2017 & 4/12/2017 free of charge (normally $66.75/treatment). On 4/12/2017 we applied an additional iron treatment to help with the yellowing at no extra charge (normally $50/treatment). Due to the compaction of his lawn, we aerated it at a greatly discounted rate of $52. All of the extras that were provided to Jim D. at no charge were a value of over $400, not including the consultation or discounts on services. When he signed up for services he stated he had used 2 professional companies in the past & was not happy with either of them. Based on his measured lawn size his price should have been $78/treatment, but he told us previous companies charged him $42/service. Green Top Lawn Care agreed to make an exception for him. Our policy is to ask for a copy of the competitor?s invoice so we can verify their pricing, but we have never received this from Jim D. In addition to the numerous services that we provided at no cost, Green Top Lawn Care gave him a $360 discount on scheduled treatments. When he spoke to our horticulturist in May 2017, expressing his need for immediate results, his lack of patience in allowing necessary time for applied treatments to work & small patchy areas to grown in, she suggested a different lawn care company may be a better fit for him. He refuted the suggestion & demanded that we continue to service his lawn. Any time he called our office, he was abusive to staff on the phone & made unreasonable demands.
