Alex and his team were amazing. Kind of a small project of just installing a skylight where my fireplace was but they made it look awesome. Even tested it with water to make sure it didn't leak afterwards. Looking forward to having them do more project in the future.

I have Gregg Home Improvements replaced trimming on 2 chimney s on my house. They are very responsive, especially someone always answer the phone. To me that is vey important. I recently purchased a vacation home and the foundation needed to be redone. A friend of mine recommended Gregg's home improvement services. From the get-go, they were very respectful and resourceful of the project at hand. They walked me through every step and the deadline in which the work would be completed. I'm very happy with their work and will be using their work on future projects.

Trust me... AVOID this company. They took THOUSANDS of dollars of my money and have retained thousands of it. He still owes me $2100, and two acquaintances +$5000, and +$100,000. False insurance documents were provided, to top it off. He is a scam artist. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Do not buy the lies, sob stories, excuses with "the bank"... He will be incredibly eager to get a deposit from you, so he can pay off other debts. Getting the work done is nearly impossible... and if you think you are getting your money back without measurable efforts, think again.

Here is a detailed, objective account of our experience: Engagement Details: We contracted Gregg Home Improvements, led by Alexander Gregg, in November 2021 for a complete renovation of our Greenwich Village apartment, with a contract amount exceeding $250,000. We paid 50% upfront as agreed. Issues Encountered: â ¢ Delays and Mismanagement: Gregg requested an additional 30% of the contract amount to expedite labor but left the apartment in disarray for seven months due to delays in permit filing. â ¢ Fabricated work progress: o Debris was cleared, but construction work never started even after the permits were approved, but Gregg claimed that 90% of electrical work was completed, and that workers had been regularly showing up to continue construction. â ¢ Fabricated Expenses: We discovered that Greggâ s breakdown of expenses was largely falsified. Claims included: o A $24,500 expense for flooring, which was actually only a $1,000 deposit. o Exaggerated costs for architect and engineer services. o Unverified purchases of appliances. o Inflated labor costs. I have had an absolutely horrendous experience with Alex. He promised to do work a year ago for an investment property and took a 50% deposit on the work and kept citing delays and other issues and never did the work. He continuously delayed the project for unspecified reasons and was never able to follow through on the work. Finally after a year of back and forth and no work, had to get a different contractor in to do the work. He uses the deposits the moment you send them and has promised to pay us back but continuously dodges real requests to pay us back for a slew of reasons (family issues, car broken down). He is such a scam he has recruited what looks likes his brother in on it as he uses his brother's Venmo to collect deposits. DO NOT USE ALEX GREGG. WOULD STAY AWAY. Please feel free to contact me, I am in the process of filing a lawsuit and getting the NY DA involved given the issues he has caused others.

I'm not sure what happened to Alex and his company but I could not have had a worse experience (and I'm still chasing him to get my deposit back)! To make it worse, he was recommended by a contractor colleague. I strongly, strongly recommend everyone to stay away! And as far as I can tell he isn't even licensed in NY. Things started off well. He gave me a quick estimate. He was rather aggressive in his initial follow-up to get a contract signed and to get a 50% deposit delivered fast, well in advance. It might be fair to say he was all over me in an intense way. I was a bit surprised about that and it made me wonder if using him was a good idea, but he came recommended. After the deposit was sent, things quickly went downhill. The start day came and went. First he was confused about the date. Then a family member went to the ER, then the family member died; of course I was sympathetic and let that explain some delay. All along, he said multiple times, the crew would come without him (2 people came for 3 hours without enough material for 1 room and did very poor work, not even completing 1/20th of the total work). I postponed travel, had a mess in my apartment, missed work, then flew back early because he "promised" to start the next Monday, 2 weeks after the initial start date. That Monday when he again didn't show up, based on his prior offer, we mutually agreed to cancel the contract. He agreed he would return the money within a few days. Multiple commitment dates to return the money have come and gone. I have followed-up at least 10 times. My contractor friend has tried to help get the money back as well. So 3 weeks after the cancel date and 5 weeks after when the job was supposed to be finished, I'm still trying to get my deposit back - a deposit which he promised to return. My project was delayed over a month; I'm paying significantly more to get the job done; I've lived with a mess; and now, I'm in the process of taking him to court to get my deposit returned. I've used numerous contractors and not all are perfect but this is the worst experience I have ever had. I hate to post terrible reviews and I've warned him multiple times that I was going to take action, but enough is enough. Please save yourself trouble, time and money and, even if someone recommends him, stay away.

Fraud stay away from Alex sound like he know what he is doing but never gets the job done has my $10000 deposit and refuses to give it back to me!

The work was never performed. He collected the deposit and vanished. Also note: 1. His address at 174 West 4th Street, New York, NY 10014 is a box at a post office. Convenient for avoiding getting served legal papers. 2. His license number of #2038437 is fake. You cannot track him in any NY State site. 3. He claimed to be involved with projects in the area. All lies. He had pics from those exact phantom projects on his site/insta

Do not give him money. Took my deposit. Didn't buy materials, didn't pay the subcontractor. Left my apartment demolished for months with daily promises of tomorrow. I had to get another contractor to finish. Only started repaying me after I filed a police report. He still owes me thousands of dollars. He has been promising to repay me for a year.
