We have been with Guardian for close to 20 years. Today I forgot to check a pot on the stove and the kitchen filled with smoke. Our phone rang the same time that the smoke detector sounded. It was Guardian. We opened doors and windows to clear smoke. Guardian called later to check that all was OK. It feels good to know that if we didn't make it to the phone, Guardian would have called emergency services. That is a good feeling. Christmas dinner turned out OK.

Terrible customer support - impossible to get reach. My old alarm company was bought by them, and one of the lithium powered sensors needed a new battery. Previously the old company did that but Guardian said I could do it myself. I popped the cover and it was clear I wanted them to do it. I phoned them, hit "1" so they would phone back, they never phoned back. I did the same thing again with the same results. I finally phoned them and stayed on the line until it picked up, at which point it rang for several minutes and disconnected me. I'd ask for a refund and go to another company but if you can't reach anyone ...
Another dead battery a year later, alarm beeping. I did actually reach them and they said to go buy new batteries. I have maintenance, aren't they supposed to change the batteries? Well, yes they admitted. Then I tried to silence the infernal beeping until they came. They sent a signal to the system to stop beeping - didn't work. They told me how to silence one of the two keypads, but for the other one I sent them a picture of it and in 10 minutes they still couldn't tell me how to silence it so I finally went for a drive and spent $15 for lithium batteries in addition to what I am paying them for maintenance.

Horrible deplorable services. I had them as vintage since 2020. Service is subpar . I never have access to my cameras , my alerts don’t work . They can’t even identify the correct billing party . Technician can’t come after 3 or on saturdays so if you have a job you are out of luck . Absolutely no customer retention

Regretting working with them. I paid $500 to have them install one hdmi cable route for a mounted tv. I confirmed with the salesmen they are high quality hdmi cables they install and agreed only because I wanted it done before I moved into a new house. The salesman either lied or had no idea what he was talking about because the hdmi cables are cheap and interfere with wireless remotes and controllers. Can’t use the hdmis I paid them to install and have to pay someone else to come and remove them and install new ones. I’d do it myself but they’re bolted into the wall so I can’t. I also expected a plastic route through the wall but it’s just straight in the insulation. Would not work with again.
Also the salesmen was trying to use my dog dying in a fire to upsell me for home monitoring services. Pathetic all around

I have been a Guardian customer for almost 10 years. I have their system on both of my properties. I had not had any issues with Guardian until recently. My doorbell/camera have been out of commission since 5/8/2025. I have been waiting for a Guardian subcontractor to come out to repair/replace since 5/8/2025. I find it hard to believe that this large, nationwide security company does not have inhouse techs for situations like this or cannot find a certified contractor. I am so frustrated. And if I cancel my contract (because their equipment is not functioning) I have to payout the balance of the contract,

I would not recommend them. Their contractors never showed up and they don't even have their own installers. They hire other contractors to do their work.

They nickel and dime you. I get charged for every little thing, including when they miss an appointment. I am counting down the days until my contract is up.
