I had the same experience as others who have rated this company 1/2 a Star. A six-week project that started 3 months late was still not finished at week 20. At that point, I fired them. There was another partner and all the bad reviews have happened since they split. The current owner has no idea how to run a company, especially not a construction company and I agree with another reviewer that you can not believe a word out of his mouth. He will lie right to your face and not blink an eye. JUST DO NOT DO IT. Hire anyone else!!!

Basement Remodeling
I am extremely disappointed in Guinto Construction. Seven months after the contract, still an unfinished basement. I was promised my basement project would begin November 2021. With constant follow-ups to owner, it finally started in February 2022, 3 months later. We were told up front we would sit down with their design specialist to discuss certain items such as the vanity, flooring, and wet bar, etc. that never happened. I was told that there would be ongoing communication; again that never happened. I heard more from the owner when he wanted money. When he wanted more money I would hear from him multiple times a day, after he got his money it would be weeks before someone would work on my basement. Always different individuals working on my basement and never the same guys. I was constantly having to explain the plan, what I wanted and what should be done. It got so bad that I could no longer trust anything the owner said. On June 21, 2022, I could not take anymore and I terminated services. It was the BEST decision I made. I have gotten more work done on my basement than they had in the past 7 months.

They did an excellent job on my basement. From day one to finish. It did take longer than I expected but so as my neighbor who hired some contractor and didn't show up until a year later. I did order some materials that took longer to arrive so partially it's our fault. My wife and I could have ordered something that's in stock but we wanted a specific flooring. I would hire them and recommend them. I felt safe with their guys being inside my house. They were respectful and polite.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Contracted them in 8/21, project was supposed to kick off 1/22, after two more missed start dates, project kicked off first week of 3/22. It is now first week of 5/22, and project was only supposed to be a two week job. Brought in unskilled labor to sand cabinets, this person was hired out of the Home Depot parking lot and is not normally on their payroll. Which by the way, they are NOT bonded, even though they claim to be. Did not prep walls before painting, had to have them paint the walls twice and it is still not done correctly, as I myself had to use mud to fill holes and sand so they would not have to do it a third and fourth time. Painted cabinets, closed them so they were painted shut. Had to paint cabinets 3 times to get it 75% complete. They painted every appliance in my kitchen (stove, microwave, dishwasher and fridge). It is like they never heard of masking tape. Had to finish the cabinets myself as they never completed them all. Countertop was the only thing done correctly and that is because he subcontracted that out. Next came the backsplash. They did not even want to repair the sheetrock that was damaged before putting in the new backsplash. I had to force that issue to get that done and they only replaced two thirds of the sheetrock. Which caused issues with the tile not being flush. The tile guy was using a hand tool to cut the tile, not a tile saw. Cuts were jagged and the tile looked like s***. Complained and was told it would be fixed. The next day, the tile guy started grouting the tile and did not even finish putting the tile up. I have a ½ inch gap under my kitchen window sill that is open air, no sheet rock, no tile. He used grout to fill in empty tile slots that he felt was too difficult to use his hand tool to cut small pieces of tile. After that, I did not even want them to start on the floor. Since the only thing that was completed correctly was the countertop in the 4 1/2 weeks on site, I decided that I had enough and fired them on the spot. Now I have to look to another place to fix all the problems this company left me with. Do not hire these guys. The owner is dishonest, and I m going to be taking legal action against him and his company so he does not do this to anyone ever again.

The original start date was to begin at the end of November. Was pushed back to February as they were behind on jobs due to the lack of supplies from vendors. Clear out kitchen and living room for them to start. I texted the new project manager asking what time they would begin and she texted back with a reply saying the owner tried to contact me and push the project back again. I was never notified. The owner instantly called me and asked if they could push back further. I replied saying no and if they could not start then I would like to get my money back and find a new contractor. He started the next day with the demolition of our kitchen and living room. He offered to install some windows if we paid for them and those were completed but the siding on the back of our house was not taken off and they just knocked it down from the inside and not really usable since it is metal siding and it was all bent up. So cool he said he would replace it. From here things just keep going down hill. So work on our project from here just never was consistent and typically never the same person working in the job. We had to compromise on the flooring choice as they told us there was a month wait on the flooring we originally wanted. We had picked stuff in October with the original project manager so he had plenty of time to order it and have it ready. But to keep the project moving forward since it took them like a month after the original start date gets working again. As flooring was being done I noticed some screws in the floating flooring which made no sense. Turns out they way they did it was all wrong. Wall repair, Paint, and sanding were done here and there and done poorly and not just done before everything else was started. The flooring was done poorly with terrible cuts due to the lack of proper tools. He asked for more money which we declined to give as they were no where near half done. So they took another break from our project to finish another job to be able to pay his workers. The whole time communication is terrible and every time we would mention something the owner would just it will be fine and we will fix it. They finished the other job and came back able to install the cabinets and countertop. Keep in mind the walls are not finished nor painted. But they installed them and the countertop was lower on one side than the other. The home is older so I knew there will be some moments where things needed to be addressed but this was terrible work. For some reason there was glue everywhere and also in the new flooring. flooring had a bunch of divots taken out from dropped tools or other things. Chipped in other places. The countertop where the sink goes is just slightly longer than the precut pieces from Home Depot so I knew there would be a cut in the countertop to add a smaller piece. They decided to make that cut in the middle where the sink would go. Did not tape the countertop where the cut went so it chipped the countertop and they tried to hide it and glue where it chipped instead of fixing it correctly. This is were we made the best decision and split ways. I own a business myself and this is not how you run a company. I would never recommend this company nor ever think about hiring them again. I could go on and on about other things but I only have much I can write in this. I will REPEAT AND SAY DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. One last thing After we fired this company he had the balls and call me asking for even more money knowing I would have to pay other people to fix everything they did. After some words he got the hint that he would not be getting any more money. Moments later I received a text message asking to be merciful and not leave a review. I cannot let this happen to anyone else and I have to leave a review. They got us for 18k do not let this happen to you. I would give this company 0 stars but it will not let me.

Guinto Construction and Remodeling is a very professional company. It was great to work with Ferdie, he was very helpful and informative through the entire process. He took care of everything and was very punctual. I would recommend Guinto Construction and remolding to anyone who wants to be taken care by a company that actually cares about their customers.

My brother Michael Eaton already posted most of the issues. Since someone jus moved i we just found out that when they installed the new shower downstairs they did not connect the drain to the shower so water was everywhere in the basement. This is going to cost us another $1500 for a PROFESSIONAL company to take it apart and re-install the floor drain to the shower correctly. It also ruined the new flooring that was put in. My brother also forgot to mention the beer bottles left sitting around the house on more than one occasion. SO RIDICULOUS AND IF I COULD RATE A ZERO I WOULD. WE HAD JUST LOST OUR DAD SUDDENLY AND TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH ALL OF THIS UNPROFESSIONALISM WAS DISGUSTING.

I had three bids. Guinto came out first but we had a lower bid so Guinto matched the lower bid. Said it would be done in ten days. The demolition was the only thing on the schedule. When they started to do the actual remodel after the demolition they did everything in weird orders. For instance, they put in vinyl flooring, but they did that first even though the walls needed to be painted and repaired. They painted trim that we asked not to be painted. They painted window frames which werent supposed to be painted and in the process painted the windows shut. They painted over an electrical outlet even, which is a fire hazard. At one point it was six weeks out from when we started and they said they would forgo the last 25% payment because they were so far behind and had made so many mistakes. Thats when we noticed that the AC no longer worked. They had cut an electrical cord from the outside AC unit to the inside blower. Now, today after two months of them being out of the house we have people living there and using the water finally and we find out that they had poured several gallons of leftover paint down the main drain in the basement. This is is an additional expense of $1000 for me. The really unfortunate thing is that he has a few guys who work for him who are VERY good and VERY reliable. The bad part is that he tries to have way too many jobs going at once and the rest of the workers have no training or experience at all. I tried to just let it go, but having this happen today was the last straw. People should know before they get bids.
Response from Guinto Construction and Remodeling
"Michael, I am so sorry that your experience was not the best with our company. We recognize our construction schedule became strained due to covid quarantines, and we appreciate you letting us complete your project in the timeliest manner possible. We are a growing company and are continuing to develop from our previous issues. We do have a dedicated team of employees who are committed and being trained to meet our high standards; the employee who dumped the paint in no longer with our company; we take those issues very seriously. I do know we were in communication, continued to get your project compete, and all issues were resolved."

My experience with them was horrible. They should not be able to conduct business or treat people the way they do, in my opinion. I hired them in 04/13/2021, they started 05/08/2021, said he would have the job finished in 7 days. It has been over 4 months, They went on vacation in the middle of the project. No one returns my calls for over 30 days. They did not complete the contract, I paid them $5000 and left my house a mess. He offered to finish the job recently, but I no longer want them in my home. I have to hire someone else to fix what they messed up.
