Don't use this contractor is the best advice I can give you. We sued him as he failed every aspect on the project from roofing, concrete, framing, painting, cabinets and he causes damages to your property as he has no regard for your property. Engineer reports from both sides confirmed this complete debacle and subpar damaged work and damages. In addition Jimmy (James Hoyt) sued all his own subs, none responded to the filing. To retaliate he filed false complaints against the county on us, he filed a malicious mechanics lien which he had to dismiss because he had no proof. He never proved the expenditures we gave him so he pocketed the money which is basically unjust enrichment or could be civil theft. You have to testify under oath to the validity of the mechanics lien when you go to file it so the guy lies under oath. He had to dismiss two other frivolous lawsuits he filed against us all because he had no proof as they were in retaliation. Pictures prove my comments

"This person belongs in a mental institution. All the work that was done prior to them breaching the contract was to code and had passed inspections. All the items pointed out were to be remedied and/or corrected had they allowed us to finish the project. They were a nightmare client that has only caused themselves alot of frustration by what appears to be a ridiculous attempt to swindle HB and scam the insurance carrier for personal gain. Now that they have had multiple attorneys decline to represent them and a final one refusing to work on a contingency basis; they have come to the realization that there will be no big pay out to them for their embellished and fraudulant claims. As a result, they have reverted to listing as many bad reviews and negative posts as possible to promote their adolesent tantrums."

Jim is great and did good work on the pergola he built but he hired someone else to do the concrete part of the job and they did not do good work. I do not think the concrete will last through the winter without cracking and chipping away.

Jim Hoyt and his assistant replaced two deck beams and finished the day early. The next day we checked his work in more detail to find he did not insert most fasteners and left many joists poorly attached to the new beam or not attached at all. We emailed photos of the missing fasteners. Jim returned the following week to install the missing fasteners. We were not impressed.

Jim was really helpful, started right away and finished exactly when he said it would be done. Really good service and the craftsmanship was good. Only thing was some of the wood choices were not the most aesthetic peices of wood.

Jim is the owner and the main labor. He is calm and very patient. During the build we had questions, additions and changes come up and Jim said, no problem, this is part of the process. I am so thrilled with our final product and Jim did the work with care and in a very timely fashion. Thanks again for everything Jim! We will love our new deck for many many years to come.

Jim and Michael replaced our Trex deck with a TimberTech Deck in August. Jim gave me a quote and stay within my budget. He is a small business and doesn't have a big fancy web page like a Deck Business. He comes out gives you a quote then fits you in as soon as he has an opening. Jim worked with me when I made a few slight changes like adding shelves under our deck and my husband didn't want the screws to show on the boards so he installed the clamp type system. Since he is a small business so do your homework as to the type of composite wood you want. The good thing is the SuperDeck Store has all of the material for you to make your decision.

The end of my deck wood was rotting so in addition to fixing that they extended my deck to make it a little larger and added an area just large enough to put my dual grill on so it would be out of the way. They are a small company, very good price, completed the work on time, cleaned up pretty well after the work. I recommend them.

Our family had just spent $25,000 on basement wall repairs, did not have an unlimited budget for this project and needed a basic deck for our front door. Contractor was willing to work within our budget for this project. Contractor was prompt, polite and had the job finished in one day. Thanks Jim!

The job was not completed satisfactorily. He asked for the remainder of the fee while i was out of town on business which my wife paid. Upon my return I was extremely upset and attempted to contact him and he has never replied. I would not recommend this individual for any job. He was unreliable, and did not complete the job to my satisfaction. My family and neighbors all agree we got ripped off

"This customer was looking for cheap way of restoring a poorly constructed deck. The product that he and his wife chose was "Deck Restore" from Lowe's. I was up front about not having worked with this product before, I informed of that and that I could not guarantee the results. I changed color 3 times to make them happy and replaced 2 1/2 times more deck then originally quoted and rewired all the deck lights for no additional cost, His wife said she was happy with it and paid me in full. His expectations were much higher than his budget."

It was very hard to get in touch with him and they scattered dozens of nails across my yard and did not pick them up. I have a child and this was dangerous. We got a flat tire and found them in our shoes.

Jim Hoyt was good to work with. He knows his trade and was very helpful in making suggestions to help upgrade the project. While we were having the roof replaced we decided to add solar light tubes in the two bathrooms. They came out great and added value to the project. Overall, Jim was good to work with, responded promptly to questions and concerns and the job looks great.

Jim Hoyt is extremely knowledgeable about general construction issues as well as roofing. In addition to doing a great job on the roof itself, he was creative and flexible in solving our attic ventilation and skylight issues. Since Jim did most of the work himself (with one assistant) we knew it was being done right. Excellent quality workmanship, superior advice and outstanding customer service, all at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Jim came within an hour after we called and gave us an estimate. The other contractor we talked to said he was coming and didn't come or call. Jim came the next week and fixed the roof. No rain yet but he said he will come back and check after the next big rain. Very professional.
