HG Home Inspection

I am a real estate agent and used them for two inspections and a termite inspection in the same day. At one of the homes inspected, the inspector told the office he was at the seller's home for 3 hours when he was actually there for maybe an hour and a half. The second home inspector was not at the house longer than an hour, spent less than 15 minutes in the house and the report had numerous items left off including a hot tub in a back patio, the inspector lied and said that all appliances did not work yet the dishwasher was in the same position it was in when I was there two weeks prior and the seller called me after he left and proved to me that all of the appliances were in working condition. This is a hoarder house and HG was told this when the inspection was scheduled. There is just too much to even mention on this review ~ the owner TJ Hilsher, yelled at me & said "we are deleting these reports like they never happened & refunding your money" then hung up. Stay away.

The inspector was good and I was pleased with his work, but the company sold my contact information to a lot of other companies. Be prepared for a lot of unsolicited phone calls if you use them.

I had a great experience with HG Home Inpection s Jon Rabun; he was patient, supportive, thorough and detailed in his inspection. He skillfully managed a hard-to-achieve balance between doing an exhaustive review and answering my questions. Jon dedicated plenty of time for the inspection, and then some more to review the report he produced right there, on the spot. He also provided advice on the subsequent conversation I would have with the builder. The communication with the company was also great; timely, clean, polite. This is a company I would recommend for anyone needing a home inspection done in the Houston Texas area. I had never set foot in the property, the real estate agent was pushing my wife to buy it without an inspection, and I refused to close without having an inspection done. The inspection disclosed a fire/shock hazard in the electrical panel, a grading issue that would allow water penetration into the house, issues with the roofing and decking that would allow water penetration...... and the list goes on. The moral of the story is always have a knowledgeable home inspector go through any property you are looking at buying. Plan on three to four hours for the inspection. Coleman did the inspection and we had the report that night.

Being a first time homer buyer without any prior inspection idea, I was very anxious, not knowing what to expect. My inspector, Byron, made it look so simple. He did a perfect job and took his time to explain everything to me. He requested that requested that I should not fail to revert back to him if I have any concerns or questions. The inspector arrived on time, was courteous, didn't mind discussing his findings and answering my questions, and made some repair recommendations based on his experiences as a builder and inspector.

The inspector has an awesome attitude. It means a lot being able to contact him (even after hours) to ask a question about something you don't understand on the report. I would definitely use them again.
