John is a super honest guy, who takes a lot of pride in his work, and isn't someone who is out to take advantage of people. I had 4 other bids besides his, and he provided not only the best price, but the best solution to remedy my deck issues. He went above and beyond what was stipulated in his bid to ensure that the problem that I had experienced would not reoccur again in the future. And, he didn't ask for any additional money. His work is top notch and I will be having him back to work on another project down the road. I highly recommend him!!!!

Quite simply the best customer experience I have ever had with a contractor...ever. John is helpful, knowledgeable, available and friendly. HE LISTENS and builds beautiful work. They gave us exactly what we wanted and guided us through some important decisions. We now have the most beautiful deck and pergola which came out even more beautiful than we imagined. The prices were extremely fair. Changes were accepted professionally. Advice was offered freely and in a spirit of partnership. I honestly cannot recommend this company highly enough. I will not take on another outdoor project without them. We were so thoroughly satisfied with John and his crew that we spent the rest of our project budget on a fence we'd been delaying for five years. It is also magnificently beautiful and exactly what we asked for. We never could have been able to afford two projects had we not used H&H. Pergola Project. John was friendly and helpful. He answered all of our questions and assisted us in determining how to get what we wanted. His crew was hard-working, diligent and very detail oriented. They completed the project in a timely manner and it is exactly as we envisioned. We originally hired John Horn to replace 1700 square feet of redwood deck on three different levels and to tear out and replace dry rot and water damage to a large elevated wood driveway structure, along with the underlying partially finished basement/workshop area. The multi-level deck structure is very high off the ground, involving many complex engineering details. John and his highly professional and courteous team did an immaculate job replacing our deck, which now is a beautiful piece of art! The deck and railing are incredibly strong, much stouter than the original structure. I cannot say enough good things about the integrity and professionalism of John and his highly skilled craftsmen. It turned out that the water damage to our driveway structure was much more extensive than originally anticipated, requiring a complete tear-out and rebuild. John and his team made this challenging project as painless as it possibly could be. The new structure is vastly superior to the original structure, and is much more attractive. They handled the rough framing, siding installation, window and door replacement, drywall, interior and exterior painting, and the replacement of electrical and plumbing, in a meticulous manner. John and his team were very conscientious about communicating with us on a daily basis. They were always suggesting helpful and cost-effective ways to improve upon how the work was to be carried out, and to improve upon the appearance of the final product. John and his team are perfectionists and take great pride in the quality of their work. We look forward to working with John and his team on all of our future home improvement projects.

The job was well done, though there was an issue related to cleanup after the job was completed. The owner took care of it to my satisfaction, however. I would recommend their work.

Project: Repair Deck. John was very quick to respond to my request for bids. He explained the job, price, his availability and had it all on paper for my husband's review that same evening. He was available for a few more questions from my husband. His team show up exactly as agreed, worked like bees in a hive, very polite, cleaned up and moved on to the next job.

John had good ideas. The deck his crew installed was on a firm foundation and should last a while. His price was most competitive. The crew was efficient and cleaned up well afterwards. Project was on time.

The deck is beautiful, well built and John even cleaned out the brush and small tree below it, on the hillside.

H&H did an excellent job on our deck. Work was started and finished on time with excellent quality, even with a couple of minor additions to the project.

We were initially concerned that the boards were stapled to the posts, rather than nailed, however, we are very happy with the final product.
