We have done projects with different contractors, but putting an addition on to our house was by far the biggest project we had ever done. We were terrified of its breadth and complexityâ particularly as concerned making the house comfortable for my elderly parents and more accessible for my son, who uses a wheelchair. We met with several contractors and chose HDB both because their bid was more reasonable and because we had a gut feeling of trust that, fortunately for us, never ebbed throughout the process. Choosing HDB was the best decision we have ever made in the 10 years we have owned our house, and we will continue to solicit their expertise for any future work. At every step of the process they demonstrated their authenticity, integrity, empathy and expertise. For questions we had about anything, big or small, we received a response within a day. We added two and half rooms and bathrooms to ones side of the house. Based on his vast experience in our area, Dale had important, smart suggestions for modest but powerful improvements elsewhere in the house that would not have occurred to me but proved to be invaluable--and increased the value of our home dramatically. He navigated town permit issues. Cost was very reasonable and if there were any questions, he was open to discussing and adjusting. Diane had superb design instincts, which saved us from hiring another professional, and as part of the fee she sent wise suggestions for vanities, light fixtures, paint colors, rugs and more; and then ordered the items directly. Both obviously cared about us and the project and made everything as easy as possible for us. Most projects we had done previously had faltered at the end, with smaller punch list items; but as usual, Diane and Dale were responsive til the final t was crossed and I dotted. HDB is a rare company with skill and expertise but also with a passion for their work and a spirit of kindness and concern for their clients that made a house addition â something we dreaded--actually fun. Review Hampton Design and Build inc Restored our house to its former luster after a pipe burst causing major damage to our main floor and basement. Dale and Diane worked tirelessly on our behalf to replace sheetrock insulation, repair the heating plumbing and electricity. They oversaw the rebuilding of our kitchen and laundry room with new cabinetry and countertops, replaced our beautiful wood floors in the common living area as well as replaced the basement carpeting with core-tech. Diane was very helpful with kitchen design and interior decorating which updated our house. Dale and Diane were easy to work with-consulting with us, keeping us informed and taking care of all the details. Dale guided us through the entire process as we would not have known where to begin therefore we would highly recommend using Dale and Diane at Hampton Design and Build Inc.

Hampton Design and Build did a terrible job. They started my deck in May and in September they finally sent guys to fix the shabby work their first crew did. They should have sent people who knew what they were doing in the first place. No one even came to check the work that was being done. Luckily I took photos of every step so that they couldnâ t say the initial work was well done or even done correctly. It was a really, really bad experience.

I could not be happier with Dale and Diane and the outcome of my project. We hired them to do a complete gut renovation of our home including HVAC, electric and plumbing. They were a pleasure to work with and had great ideas that really helped us achieve a finished product that far exceeded our expectations. Their team is professional, pleasant and responsive and NEAT. The crew always left the place cleaner than before they came. They are very easy to work with and do not cut corners. Their work is high quality and they do not leave anything undone. Our house looks and feels new. Project was completed quickly even with supply chain issues that everyone faced during and after the pandemic. Dale was always there finding alternative sources for product and and had great suggestions to keep things moving. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for great craftmanship and people that are honest, will be there with you until the end and are a pleasure to work with.

We hired Dale and Diane to handle a gut renovation, converting one old bathroom into a new en-suite bathroom and additional powder room. This was a pretty complicated update which included: * Complete demo of most of the interior walls in the area. * Reframing * Brand new plumbing (we moved every single thing we could!) * New window cutouts/install. * Radiant heated floors. * Brand new electric. * New wood flooring in the master bedroom. The did it all and even fixed some of our roofing issues that came up along the way! They are "yes" people - they'll make what you want happen!

We hired Dale and Diane to renovate the home we just purchased out at the beach. Amazing experience from start to finish! Excellent quality work at reasonable prices. Dale was on it from the day we began until we just finished. His advice was invaluable and our home looks brand new, could not be happier!

We could not be happier with our â newâ Quogue house. We initially contacted Diane and Dale with the idea of doing full renovations of our three bathrooms, but we quickly realized (with some input from friends who also had a wonderful experience with the duo) that this was the team to help us accomplish some longer term goals for our home: to build out a new second floor den with an outdoor balcony, to create a beautiful new mahogany deck for our pool with an adjacent outdoor shower, to straighten an interior wall, and to install new cedar siding for the whole house. Our home really does look and feel new. When the Village Inspector suggested the installation of a backyard fence, the job was completed within a matter of days. And all this was accomplished during a pandemic. In terms of the actual day-to-day renovation process, both Diane and Dale are extremely responsive to any concerns or questions, and any minor issues that arose were promptly addressed. Nothing was left undone. Their employees were pleasant, careful, and cleaned up after their work. It was a pleasure working with the Benders and their crew, and we will certainly look to engage them for our next project, whenever and whatever that might be.
