I hired this kid Jason to build a decorative wall for the front yard. He told me it would be done in 1 day. I told him not to be so fast because that would not be acceptable because there would be lack of detail. In that I mean short cuts and too rushed would result in terrible craftsmanship. Which is indeed what happened. The wall went up the breeze blocks were put on backwards with the finished side facing in when they should have been facing out. Concrete bags were used instead of mesh and could be seen through the breeze blocks. The footing was too far out into the yard and too high so the landscape rocks were too high to be blended back into grade and there were uneven lumps of concrete and concrete waste all along the wall. Then they shoveled dirt back onto the wall without replacing the fabric weed blocker and had contaminated my rock landscaping material with dirt so the weeds can grow through. Jason the owner of this outfit had no clue what I was talking about. I had to tell him several times that this kind of shoddy work was unacceptable. I made him chisel the footings down so at least the rest of the rocks could be graded back and even with the rest of the yard. Then I started to look for reviews on his work as I was referred by a customer that used his Uncle for work in the same field. I found a review that stated he would hide the concrete waste all over the yard and he tried to bury the waste. So that was a red flag and I started looking really close, and sure enough I found 4 different spots in my very small font yard that concrete waste was hidden. The lazy workers splashed concrete all over the wife's jeep, the plants, and the house. I pointed this out to him and made him clean this mess up. It took three times for him to get it right. He then thought he was finished. Every time I looked closely at his work the more I found wrong. I asked for a topper on the wall, and he said the blocks were flat and filled the tops with concrete instead of topping them with flat block toppers. He finally got this done because I refused to pay for this kind of poor craftsmanship. To his credit he did try to do what I asked, but the quality of his work is so poor I would rate it at a 1 out of ten, and that is being generous. I felt sorry for the kid because his father is in Chemo treatment. My mistake, which I will never make again. So his wall which he said would take one day took three days. He did not heed my warning about working too fast and not paying attention to detail. I would avoid this half rate contractor at all cost because you won't be satisfied with the end result. His Uncle bailed on me also for some concrete floor finishing and cool decking in the back yard around my pool, which is in the next review. Read about it and see what else this half rate contractor did. I tried to explain to him and he said he understood and things would be much better. But there were far from much better. He didnt listen to a word I said, but groveled to continue doing work for me. I did not think he could get any worse but it did.

They destroyed my property, by dumping concrete and grout mix, throughout my property, killing 17 large plants and the entire irrigation system. the footing around the wall is out 2+ feet and did mixed with a landscape rock, because they were too lazy to properly remove it due to over estimating material so there were also chunks of concrete dumped thruough out my property, and now its costing thousands to redo my landscape, all the footing material they left by the wall has to be jackhammered out, according to any landscaper or concrete specialist, who has been here. since i filed with the contractors board who, in the original letter, said that c k masonry needed to put my landscape back to how it was originally but knowing that they were a small company, i tried to give them a break, offering a solution, which was to remove all the landscape rock and excess footing material, wanted it low enough to make sure there was no concrete/grout mix to make sure new landscape would not die, leaving me with nothing but dirt!!! in return, i would take care of new soil, irrigation and anything else to put my property back to looking good again. owner agreed, because it would save him a lot of money. sadly to say, they did remove a lot of there mess, but learned after removing, what appeared to be everything we agreed upon, that the machine they were using to dig and remove everything, they dug up dirt, flipped it over on top of rock, backing over it to smooth out the dirt so it would appear to just be dirt left and I would not notice what they hid from me, they used enough dirt to do this throughout the property, even enough to cover the messy footing along the wall. then we had a couple of high windy days along with a couple of mini monsoons resulting in the landscape rock and over kill footing they attempted to hide, resurfacing. i highly recommend not to use them unless you have complete detail in writing, and watch every move!!

My biggest thing is that I am a family person and I am particular on who I let into my home. I was impressed when he came in, very friendly and I felt comfortable with him in my house. They came in and did the work and did all the stuff that my wife bugs me to do. So it's nice for me to have someone else be responsible for that stuff. Did good work and I was pleased and have referred them.
