The ONLY issue with Andy is getting a hold of him because he’s so busy , but once he comes out and gives you a quote and schedules your job, his guys Alberto and Shawn were actually a day early (they had a cancellation and called me to start a day earlier than scheduled. The job was finished in 2 days, solid workmanship and safe now! Hard working guys from Andy right on down. Am using them for additional work 👍

I chose Home Advisors so that I could get several bids for my project. After about seven bids, I felt the most comfort with HandyAndy. It s a mature company, meaning they have been in business for more than 25 years, and it is easily detectable in the down to earth professionalism that was shown by their work and in their mannerism. I was pleased with the price and the end results of the project. Thank you Handy Andy for a job well done.!
Response by HandyAndy Handyman: Happy to help Margaret! It stinks to see clients like you pay other contractors for poorly done work. We're are here to help and can gradually fix everything you need to get done over time. You definitely don't need to replace all of your sidings, just spot repairs. Once we reframe the chimney you will be in great shape! Here's where we started: https://youtu.be/GeY1-xJSwDI

No nonsense estimate with complete explanation of what needs to be done, how it will be done, and the cost of it being done right. Being female, I've had some contractors try to take advantage of what they think of me not having knowledge of what should be done and it's cost. Handy Andy was a breath of fresh air in professionalism and honest work. Awesome workers and cleaned up after. Will use again and again.

Project: Hire a Handyman
Our recent experience with HandyANDY has been fantastic. Communication was great and the quality of work was phenomenal. Thanks to the great work completed, we had an offer on our house within 12 hours of the listing going live and a full list price offer within 2 days. If you need to get your the job done right, on budget and on time, do not hesitate to use HandyANDY! This was a whole house remodel, to put on the market for resale at maximum price. *Walls repaired *All interior walls primed and painted *All wood trim primed and painted *Primed and painted entire garage *Exterior Prep/Repair - Repaired/replaced all rotten wood where needed *Hand painted the exterior of the house *Painted all ceilings *Replaced all interior doors with new 6 panel doors *Installed new flooring in master bath *Painted vanity in master bath *Painted around the fireplace *Totally cleaned interior prior to listing *Dismantled and rebuilt back deck, when it was discovered septic tank was under the deck. Once septic was serviced, rebuilt, better than new *Hung new lighting *Repaired leak in the roof *Replaced bad gutter HandyANDY can do it ALL! They do everything except HVAC and Pools! We HIGHLY recommend Andy and his crew for all your repair/remodel needs. Due to their quality and expertise of work, we got top dollar for our house when we sold it.

We simply weren't happy with the quality of work and the availability of this contractor. Really difficult to get a hold of and as of this review I'm still waiting on a response to a message about moving forward on quoted work from two weeks ago. After further review of the work by another contractor, they pointed out many mistakes and missed spots in the repairs. The replacement contractor was kind enough to fix these issues and complete the work for free.

Review by Nessy D. in Acworth, GA
Project: Hire a Handyman
I have rarely been treated so badly or been left so disappointed in my entire life. I hired Handy Andy for miscellaneous repairs. My expectations were for the typical "good contractor" qualities: Dependability, competence & knowledge, timeliness, reasonable work ethic, and general human decency/respect. Well, Andy was very personable over the phone and appeared competent. Every concern I mentioned he confidently indicated he could address with ease. He also directed me towards re-prioritizing to the most critical repairs first. I listened to his recommendations as a professional and was excited about finding what I thought would be a long term dependable contractor for my maintenance needs. As it turned out, he was a huge disappointment and in the end I just wanted him to be done and in the past. He did not show up on time or at all on multiple occasions, nor did he call in advance when his plans changed, and he even lied about showing up at one point! It was extremely inconvenient accommodating him, and would have been impossible without being at home full time. When the work was close to complete, he began to become belligerent about my viewing the work, saying that it was not necessary for me to see the final work, and he became aggressive about paying him. While I expected neat and complete work, he provided sloppy and incomplete work. Trees which were supposed to be trimmed in the front of the house, for example, to 2 feet away from the house are still touching the house! Paint on repaired exterior trim is sloppy to the point of embarrassment. This is only a sampling of what went wrong. In the end, he tried justifying the unfinished and inferior work and offered to come back out, but he had become so belligerent that I absolutely did not want him coming back to my house at that point because he had fallen apart to the point that it was scary. So instead of a reasonably decent contractor, Handy Andy ended up being a big talking, undependable, beligerant, and aggressive yahoo who performs sloppy and incomplete work - not who you want in and around your property, again, who fell apart to the point it was scary and I just wanted to settle up with him and have him in the past and away from my house. It is staggering that he has so many good reviews and I thought I’d done my due diligence before hiring him, but this is not the the experience I had with him. At all. Perhaps because I am a woman and he thought he could just intimidate me? Who knows? In any case, in addition to major scheduling difficulties, he fell apart, did sloppy and incomplete work, became aggressive and beligerant, and was overall an extremely bad hire. Move on to the next contractor on the list.
Response by HandyAndy Handyman: Gentle readers, please pray for this poor troubled soul! As Paul Harvey used to say, "now for the rest of the story!" Our guys and I went out of our way to take care of Ms. Nessy D. [Consumer name withheld at their request]. The last few years haven't been kind to her. Job losses forced her to turn her personal home into a rental and repairs had been let go for years. None of what she writes here is true. The tree she mentions is a crype myrtle and it should have been pruned further back but we were doing this at the wrong time of the year. Nessy saw the way we trimmed it and understood and agreed that to trim more would harm the tree. She may not remember it though! Once we got up on ladders, we discovered a ton more in rotted wood and needed repairs. When we told her she started crying that she couldn't afford to do more. The crew and I ended up doing all of her extra repairs at NO COST TO HER! The reality on this project is that the business didn't make a dime on it and she is all set to be able to repaint the house next year. We were paid to trim a tree in the front yard but ended up trimming trees on all 4 sides of her home - the rest was for FREE. A tree company would have charged her 10Xs what we did. Another tree had been let go for years and had taken several rows of shingles off the roof - yup, we fixed all of that too at no charge! We didn't repaint the exterior trim. The house needed to repaint several years ago. All we did was touch-up where we could and repaint the replacement pieces. The house needs to be repainted. It's sad to have something like this happen. When we met her, we asked her to consider joining us in the office and she asked us to keep the position open while she thought about it. Look at it this way, sometimes things don't work out. but all of our many 4.5 and 5 star ratings can't be wrong. Communication at times is not our strong suit and we tell all of our clients that up front. The only issue we had with the work was working with the tenant to get in and prime and paint a ceiling. With weather and other jobs, we had a hard time getting back to finish the ceiling but the tenant was never put out by us nor sitting around waiting for us. I never tried to justify any unfinished work. I offered to meet Nessy and walk the job together as I am in Chestnut Hill regularly for work. I really never had any trouble with Nessy until it came time to pay! Then she disappeared for several days and finally sent me a text back that "the husband" needed to see the work. The outside work had been completed for weeks, the renter had already told both of us that the ceiling looked great so my aggressiveness was: "Geesh. Everything has been done for weeks including all the extra stuff we didn't charge for. Can we just settle up?" That's aggressive? I have all the text messages and video to back everything up. She wanted us to cut and patch a ceiling to make it perfect when it wasn't part of our job.
