I have used Dan on two separate occasions now, a kitchen remodel and a bathroom remodel. I was very pleased with the bathroom this was the first project. I then hired Dan for the kitchen. Everything turned out absolutely beautiful we had some hiccups along the way. However I believe that the way it was handled could not have been better. We had some issues with a cabinet drawer not being able to be used. Dan made some adjustments and remedied the issue. I truly appreciate the way Dan worked with us. I must say even if you do not go with Dan as your contractor make sure if you don't like something that you speak up and do it respectfully. This takes a lot of effort and small details can go unnoticed by any contractor. I truly believe having great communication makes anything easier. I will continue to work with Dan in the future for that reason. Did I mention that Dan was paid in full and did not need to come back to fix that issue, What great character!

Project: Hire a Handyman
Dan did a wonderful job installing my vinyl plank floors in the bathroom. He removed a vanity sink and toilet and installed the new set as well as installed vinyl plank flooring in the kitchen. He also removed a kitchen sink and installed a new one. His work is great. He went WELL above and beyond on this job and he also installed a counter top that was not part of the deal and I am beyond grateful! You will not be disappointed if you hire him. His price is very reasonable!

Project: Repair Drywall
Dan listened to the limits I wanted to do on the project, stayed within that. He came the day after I called to give the estimate. He then came the next day to do the mudding and the following day to sand. He cleaned up after himself and left the space ready to cure. He made sure we knew we'd have to prime before painting. He's just a solid guy.

Dan and his wife did a great job installing my exterior door. The price was right, and the quality was there. I would recommend him to others who are looking for a job well done.

Dan is a true professional. He provided us with quality work at the price that was agreed to. He worked safely and took into account that we had dogs in the house. No problems whatsoever. When we have issues, we will call Dan again.

Project: Hire a Handyman
Handyman Dan had come to the house and gave me a quote. When he showed up to do the work, he done it efficiently and quickly. Did not leave debris in the yard from the repair he performed on my roof, Would very much recommend Dan.

Project: Hire a Handyman
PERFECT,PERFECT,PERFECT! Faster than a speeding bullet. Installed 7 interior doors and trimmed around..Took away all discarded materials, partener gave me 6 hours of housecleaning for free. In and out in a day and a half. I didn't have to "show him how to do" anything. I'll have him and his partner back.

I read the reviews and I didn't meet the same person that his neighbor or others did. He was never on time. First day he was bickering and condescending to his assistant which was his wife. Needed constant supervision or no telling what the final results would've looked like. Just not very professional or thoughtful. My opinion is just that. He never arrived close to 9am even after assuring me he would be there at 9am, stayed till 6 - 7 pm. Took 3 days to install 2 French doors and frame in an existing opening, and it was obvious this was not an area of his expertise in my opinion. replaced existing slider and installed and cut out door to deck thru existing window. They are done. But little things add up to bigger things. Removed window and placed in front lawn which cooked the grass, luckily I removed as soon as I saw it and the grass is not completely dead, so far. Our new glass with etched glass storm door, which he did not install, the glass is now scratched from going in and out. The house is almost empty because we are getting carpet and tile installed later this month. I couldn't imagine having Handy Dan doing this work with a finished flooring and furniture. Just not professional enough for my taste. Like a bull in a china shop. Again this is how I saw it and my opinion. I was hesitant about this type of review because it so negative. I was hoping to find someone to complete many other projects in our home but I will not be using Handy Dan. If nothing more than the way he spoke to his wife that first day. He tried to be friendly and personable but just not my cup of tea. I am probably not a joy to work with. Just wasn't a good fit.
Response by Handy Dan Renovations: As HE said he was a not a joy to work with at all. I do my estimates as they come in each morning. My wife and I start at 8 am daily however we may not always be on the job site bright and early we are still working. I am not going to say much about the comments regarding my relationship with my wife. We have worked together every day for 14 years. This is great but sometimes we have bad days just like real people. In just 3 days we framed in 2 sets of French doors which were slightly warped from being buried on their side in the customer garage. The customer has little knowledge of what was being done but yet he had lots of negative and critical remarks on how I should procede. . My wife and I struggled to get the door units from garage to house while the customer stood by watching. During install we used tarps to walk on and also used a window fan and vac to minimize dust.. We next installed a new slider unit in the dinette. I found a lot of rot from improper flashing and corrected the problem. Finally we took out an existing window and installed an entry door at second story deck. Once again I found no flashing where new deck is attatched to house. I notified customer and flashed new door install. We did work extra late on the last day. I wanted to finish and customer stated no objection. we completed job in 3 days. It took longer than expected but still done correctly. Customer paid in full at completion with no complaints or concerns. We always try to please the customer. Sometimes it may not be possible. We have been doing this work for 32 years have a top rating with the BBB and countless customer references yet never above criticism. Thanks [Consumer name withheld at their request] for your comments. I am sorry for our differences which I am sure you will never allow to be resolved.
