Deck or Porch - Repair
This project was to replace two posts holding up the roof over a patio. The old posts were undersized and rotting at the base. Other contractors that I contacted either did not respond or did not keep their appointments. Mike's contractor was timely and thorough. He completed the job exactly as promised and very professionally. He was courteous and polite and fixed what was becoming an unsafe situation. I would definitely use Handyman Connection again. You should understand that Mike uses a network of contractors. Be sure to explain your project in detail so he can assign it to the best one for the job.

Brick, Stone or Block Wall - Install
Thanks to the 2 crews of unqualified craftsman sent to my house by Handyman Connection of Mansfield, I have 2 huge piles of debris in my front yard (going on 3 days), and a large pile of broken stone in my kitchen due to the teardown they had to do because the new stone wall I contracted them to do was done incorrectly, and was completely unsafe. My house has been completely torn apart by them since May 12 (over 2 weeks) and their crews have quit due to non payment by them. Michael Andra, President and Owner, has called us back, but offers no resolution. He instead points us back to the shady contractor - that was responsible for our job, and does not perform. We've lost $1,000 in materials due to their completely unqualified workers. Do yourself a favor, do not hire these guys! On a side note, I'm not quite sure why Home Advisor even allows this business on their platform, considering it's another contractor network, causing a loophole with respect to reviews. It's the same as them allowing Angie's List to bid for their jobs.

"Claudine, Yes - we had difficulty installing a stone veneer wall for you. There were two crews who attempted and neither could please you. However, I would disagree with your contention that it was installed incorrectly or was somehow unsafe. I have refunded your money for the project and was immediately in contact with the customer once the work was stopped to offer resolution. I apologize that we could not complete the project to your satisfaction and you had this poor experience. I will not be performing this type of work going forward and the independent contractor who supervised your project is no longer used by the company."

Kitchen - Remodel
Horrible, over a month since removing kitchen appliances, sink & cabinets I've given up and hired someone else. I've paid them over $10,600 (1/2 of agreed upon total price) and not even close to half the project completed). Filed two complaints with Better Business Bureau detailing problems from unreturned phone calls to damage done to my home. I have never been contacted by the actual owner of the company. Feeling totally ripped off.

"Joan and I have been in contact and are working to resolve any issues. Yes - we've had some challenges remodeling an older home but we have solved many of the problems encountered along the way. I can understand Joan's frustration and am working with her. We've performed much work over the past few weeks despite some set-backs and are going to install custom made kitchen cabinets. I've provided Joan with an accounting of how her money has been spent so she can see the value in the actual work performed because I don't want any customer to feel like they are being ripped off. Not all projects work out as planned but please judge a contractor by how issues get resolved and how the job finishes. I want customers to have a good experience and be happy with the results in the end."

Painting or Staining - Small Projects
While this project is just half completed at this point, it seems to be good work. The work is a little slow but it's a large painting project so I'm not surprised that it's taking a long time. UPDATE: This job was underbid, according to the painter (he prepared the bid himself). It did NOT include any trim or woodwork, which we were not told until AFTER the job was almost done. He charged us an additional $350 to do that painting. He said he "got confused" about what we wanted him to paint and did the office walls (we wanted him to only do the built-ins in that room). Then he said he needed an additional $400 to pay for his underbidding and the extra supplies that he didn't include. He was unhappy that we refused to pay the $400 and took the extra paint with him when he left (we paid for that paint). He did not paint the kick areas in the kitchen or the bathroom. The job was "estimated" to take 8 days but ended up taking him 3 weeks and as far as I'm concerned, was unfinished. Not happy with this job at all.

Front end was great. working with the supervisor was great. The work team however were very messy. We told them we preparing to put the house up for sale. However, they did not clean up well, dripped mortar and paint in many places and misjudged the lumber work on the doors we wanted repaired.

Wallcovering or Wallpaper Removal
The job was quoted, but then they tacked on another $410 for labor, and paint to remove a small mirror and light fixture in a 100sq foot bathroom and added about 1 maybe 2 hours to the bathroom job. I had already removed most of the wallpaper myself, and then Fred, decided to change the way he was going to remove the additional wallpaper from the quoted job. The added work to the patch and paint job in the living room was about an hour at the most. With the additional charges the price came out to be double the first quote I received. It took 6 days to have the job completed.

Workmanship was very good Deion did a very good job on both the drywall repair and re-staining of my front door. My only disappointment was that the final bill was 14% or $79.00 higher than the original quote/proposal I received during initial meeting.
