Extremely disappointed with the poor quality and lack of professionalism. No one showed up for our first scheduled appointment and hours later, at the end of the day, they contacted me to apologize. No big deal, things happen, so we reschedule another appointment. Sean was very courteous and apologetic upon first meeting and the quote seemed reasonable so we decided to proceed. The quoted work entailed minor drywall repair (replace tape, sand, repaint and repair nail pops) and they were able to schedule the appointment within a week of the quote. On the day of repairs, the crew arrived on time and were very polite. I walked the areas to be addressed and let them get to work without watching over everything. The foreman seemed very eager to ensure everything was addressed and was going above and beyond, however it turned out the additional items were later added to my bill without ever being discussed or requested by me. It was not much, but this was the first red flag I should have addressed at the time. The work was completed within one day and looked great at the time. The next day we noticed streaks and some areas that needed to be touched up. Sean followed up to check in on the work and see if we were satisfied. After expressing some concerns he promptly sent the crew back out the following day to touch up a few areas. At this point we were very happy with the work, however, it is now a month later and things have taken a turn for the worse. All of the nails-pops we had **repaired** were simply filled with putty and painted over. It was our assumption, when hiring a professional handyman and requesting nail pop repairs, that this would be done correctly by removing the nail and replacing it with a screw, especially when the nail pops were as large and protruding as they were! Upon contacting Sean about our concerns and frustrations we were told **unfortunately, if they reoccur the next step would be to remove the nails and reinstall with screws in place. This would be a much costlier repair but one you may want to consider if you are keeping the home house for a while** REALLY?!? Is that how nail pops are repaired? I guess we should have asked more questions when obtaining a quote to REPAIR nail pops because the **repairs** that were done were simply a band-aid that has reappeared within 4 weeks of the work being completed! Apparently putting putty over the nail pop and repainting works 90% of the time or so Sean says. He even has some that were repaired 5+ years ago that have not come back. That is GREAT Sean! What about our repairs? One would assume when hiring a **professional** they would properly identify the nail pops requiring screw replacement and include this in the quote. We paid $1400+ for work I could have easily completed to simply cover up the nail pops for a few weeks. Had I known the quote did not include proper nail pop repair and was simply a band-aid I would have never proceeded. On top of all of this, the lack of professionalism in addressing these issues is the last straw. I do not expect Sean and Team to do the right thing at this point which is why I am leaving this review. If only I could leave 0 stars I would. BUYER BEWARE. Or at least question the **professional** giving you a quote even if you assume you already know the answer. Like how is a nail pop repaired? Disappointed to say the least...

I contracted Handyman Services to build a shed from a kit. Shawn first quoted a very affordable price for the work to be performed. Near the end of the project, he asked me for partial payment. Because the work was almost completed, I gave him a cheque for the whole amount. However, then the workers unexpectedly left early that afternoon and the next day Shawn sent unexpected invoices of $690 for the remaining work and $190 for materials. In my 18 years as a homeowner with many instances of hiring contractors, nothing like this ever happened to me. After renegotiation, Handyman Services eventually performed the remaining work for $350, incl. materials. I do not know whether what happened in this instance was a one-time mistake in bidding or a standing policy of bait-and-switch. While the workers performed a great job, I will not contract Handyman Services again due to my experience with its management.
