Hansens Fence Staining Services

This is not a company that I would recommend or use again. I stopped allowing Troy and Heidi to try to "fix" their poor quality work because I was so fed up with the whole process. In the beginning it started out well. Heidi came out and measured the 400 sq ft deck with railings and spindles, provided a quote within a few days, and we were able to schedule a start date a few weeks out. But that's where things started to go downhill. I called the number on the business card (although the voicemail has no mention of Hansen's Fence Staining--only that you've reached Coach Troy) the night before to confirm a start time because I wanted to meet the men who would be spending the week traversing through my backyard. Never received a call back until the following day around noon. I waited at home that morning for the workers to show up, but they never did by 9am when I had to leave for work. With no word from Heidi or Troy, I was very concerned that they'd cashed my 50% deposit check but had no intention of actually coming out to do the work. Per my roommate, the workers eventually showed up and worked for a few hours but left before I got home around 5pm. The next day was off to a better start because the worker was there promptly at 7am to show me stain samples. But of course the color I selected was out of stock and would delay the project several weeks. So I chose another stain color. The workers worked hard on the deck for the next few days, but left their equipment all over the yard, left "highly flammable" (per their son) piles of sawdust in the yard (in July!!), and splashed the brown deck stain onto the side of my blue house. And then the "finished" product was terrible. One third of the deck was several shades darker than the rest, the previous red stain was showing through all over the deck, and the newer stain was very uneven. At this point Troy did come out himself to look at the deck and offered to re-sand and re-stain the base of the deck that was having so many issues free of charge. Of course I was agreeable to this and gave them a second chance. They were also flexible with my schedule at this point because I was going out of town for several weeks. When I got back in town, the guys came out to work on the deck for another day. Heidi checked in with me to see how it was looking and I sent her multiple pictures showing the uneven stain and the previous red stain coming through. She said to let it dry out over the weekend and take another look at it then. Unfortunately, it had not gotten any better over the weekend. She then told me that Troy was out of town and would address the issue when he came back next week. TWO weeks later, I finally get a text from Heidi asking if Troy could come out and test stain one piece of wood to see if he could fix the problem. At this point I was just fed up with the lack of communication and poor quality work. This company is clearly not their primary job and I was left wondering if they

Tory and his crew did an OUTSTANDING job. He was professional, friendly and payed close attention to what we wanted. He picked up two more jobs while working on ours and everyone is happy. We will have him back anytime!

I had trouble with stain that was mixed incorrectly by paint store. Troy noticed problem immediately. Workers had to extend time to complete the job, did so without complaint- very professional. Site was left spotless.

I am very pleased with my deck, it was in sad shape but Troy and his men worked very hard, sanding ,power washing and finally stained it. It is over my expectation. Thank you Troy and crew. Margit H. Reno nv

Troy and Jon do quality work at a fair price

Cleaned and sealed driveway pavers and patio pavers, and colored cement. Overall, they were customer oriented, and worked very hard to produce a great job.

Nice workers , no mess anywhere , friendly men. Worked to get the job in the 2 days they said it would take and they did ! Looks great! Thank you Troy

The owner Troy Hansen took the initiative to call me after I submitted my web inquiry, he was punctual in his appointment time to see the project, and he provided me my estimate in a timely manner. His price was higher than his competitors but I sensed he had more knowledge and experience in deck projects than they did. I selected Troy's services and his workers arrived the following day that I agreed to use their service. His workers were also punctual in their arrival times each day and worked efficiently during the job.
