Sid and Ted from Happy House Construction are absolutely wonderful to work with. They started our project immediately, stayed true to the bid, and gave us excellent service on a few extra repair jobs. I will most definitely use them again in the future. I have also told my friends and family about what a great job they have done for us.

We had Sid and his crew do a complete demo and residing of the south side of our home. They replaced most of our windows plus trimmed them inside and out. They reconstructed our garage entrance to allow for entry without support post in the way and trimmed out the entrance as well. Our single entry door was replaced by a beautiful Craftsman style door with sidelight. Our pasture barn was finished out making it into a large shed with metal flashing at the base. The shed had been partially framed and some of floor framed out but the job finished by Sid and crew. All the work took a bit longer due to rain or the many oddities of our house that is wonky in many areas. Walls out of plumb, etc. The south side of our home has wavy wall construction and other oddities made this project just a headache. Thankfully Sid kept at it and the house looks like new in those areas. The paint job done by another company put the cherry on top. The place looks beautiful again. I'm sure I'm forgetting some of the smaller details but these are the majors. We would recommend Happy House Construction to anyone needing work on their home. The prices are also very reasonable compared to other companies out there.

We had a great experience with HHCC and Sid. He was quick to get back to us, his prices were competitive and the product quality was equal to if not better than the options given to us by other bids. The gentleman that did the majority of work, Kellson, was very professional and polite. He's craftsmanship was outstanding, but more important than that was how he conducted himself while building our deck. Always on time, kept a clean work area and very respectful to our family and neighbors. I would highly recommend HHCC and Sid!

Project: Build or Replace a Deck or Non-Masonry Porch
read the many good reviews about Sid and Co. and decided to go with him for a deck rebuild. Very impressed with his attention to detail and overall honesty. He was very patient with many design changes as we were trying to reduce costs and save what we could from existing deck. Quality of work was excellent and we couldn't be happier with the results.

Project: Remodel a Bathroom
Great service and workmanship. Sid listened to our needs and was able to give us a fantastic new bathroom at a fair price. He was very easy to work with too.

We are delighted with the deck and porch projects Happy House completed on our home. Everyone seeing the new deck and matching front/back porches is impressed with how clean and neatly they all fit together. After taking Sid's suggestions and seeing the final results, we couldn't be more pleased. We were also pleased with the progress and time it took, and the experience and positive attitude of his crew. Looking back on our experience, Sid provided good advice in the early stages and followed thru on his promise that we would be happy with the outcome. We are glad we chose Happy House and won't hesitate to recommend them, which we already have, to several others.

Quality of job considering cost was below standard. Railing on deck had to be reworked and is still below average workmanship. Sid was only on work site for short periods of time and then left a inexperienced worker to do the bulk of the work and the final product shows it. This is a very large deck and I don't think he should have taken this job on and we suffered for his and his employee's lack of experience and skills.
Response by Happy House Construction Co.: It is amazing that it took over a year for this customer to complain about his beautiful deck and its railing! I wonder if it could be because I 'refused' to come back and build the exact same 'railing' around a tall concrete wall which has steps which lead down to his 'lower' back yard? I ask myself, 'Why didn't Dan call me and ask me to come out and 'see' any of his concerns? I have photos of every phase of this job from the 'initial site condition' to 'every phase of construction' to the 'final finished photos'. But, here is a little history about this job. I have never had a customer's 'first' payment, a check, be put on 'hold' by my bank for over a week because of a customer's dubious banking history! But that was not the only thing! When we arrived to start the deck I found that none of the garbage and debris which was strewn all around the deck site was still not removed! I asked Dan why he had not cleaned up the site as he was supposed to have done in preparation for us to start? Well he said, 'that 'guy' who tore off my old deck did not haul off this stuff away and 'I' do not have a way to haul it to the dump!' Note: that statement was bogus because the deck had been removed months before I did the initial site review for bidding the job and that the same debris which was in my initial photos was still there! So I said, "Well Dan when I came over to look at this job you said you would have al the debris removed and the site ready for us to start? (Dan) "Well huh, well huh?" I could see this was going no where!! So I went 15 miles back to my home and got my big trailer and hauled it back over and my two-man deck crew and myself proceed to spend the rest of that day and the next morning cleaning the place up and hauling 'his' garbage to the dump and I paid the fee with my nickel, as well as paid my employees! Dan never even offered to pay the dump fee! As my photos can attest to, his bags of garbage and debris included old rotting lumber, rocks, existing black contractor bags stuffed with garbage that had just been tied off and thrown out the patio door into the yard and left for weeks (based on the dust and cobwebs on each bag!), old paver blocks, pieces of pipe, even an old electrical box with the conduit and the wiring still attached to the main circuit panel in the garage, still just laying in the dirt, rusting! Can you imagine this scene! Well, sure, I could have just held off and not started the deck, but I needed to get that deck started to maintain on my company's work schedules for my next customers! I would be more than happy to send a Flash Drive loaded with a complete set of photos showing the conditions when we arrived to the final finished job! To continue, Dan was supposed to have removed shrubs and hedging that was in the same space as where the deck was to be built. Well, we had to do that job as well! Great start huh? Ok, about the deck itself. I designed the deck to have a structural load capacity o

Project: Hire a Handyman
Unskilled , work not to standards of state code . Cost as much to get repaired the work that was done
Response by Happy House Construction Co.: This customer's comments do not deserve a counter point, however, for any possible concerned customer I shall respond. I always take photos of my jobs at the beginning, in process and completion. I will gladly send them to any 'concerned' potential customer. The job was excellent like all my jobs! The customer 'had' paid cheap and truly unskilled contractors in the past and was suffering for doing so. He hired me to fix the past poor workmanship. I worked for $55.00 per hour and my bill for labor was $405 (before tax). I purchased all the materials and for the roof which required me to bring my flat bed trailer to the job site because of the long fascia boards. When the job was finished, I hauled all the debris to the dump and paid the fee myself from the $405.00. I did not charge the customer for that! Really if you read 'all' of my previous customer's comments you will be able to judge for yourself. Thank you Sid :)
