How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because My love of trees.

We started in this industry in 1994.

We describe our business as Well established

Why should a customer choose a Certified Arborist over a Non-Professional tree person?

Because a Certified Arborist can offer so much more when it comes to the evaluations, health, diagnosis, treatment, and care all tree issues.

Project: Remove Trees
My experience was great. Everyone involved with my tree problem was terrific including the lady in the office. The men who trimmed my tree branches were very good. They cleaned up everything before they left my residence. After they left I was expecting to be sweeping up debris from the trimming. I had to do nothing. The men had even cleaned the walk ways and everything in the area. They were fantastic. Mr. Harrison has a wonderful crew. Harrison Tree Service will be the company I use for any future problems. Thank you Home Advisor for your help. From a very satisfied customer Kay Welch in Bartlett, TN

Review by Bryan C. in Memphis, TN
We hired Harrison Tree Service to trim two Crepe Myrtle trees that had gotten too large for us to handle ourselves. We wanted the limbs off of our roof as well as reduced in overall height. One tree is twice as tall as our house and sways terribly in storms. We are concerned about it damaging our house. His crew showed up at our home unannounced. I was a bit alarmed to hear men in my back yard and someone on my roof. They basically removed the limbs that were touching our roof and NOTHING else. We called to complain and Mr. Harrison told us he would come out to determine if the job was done per our agreement. However, he never came out or called to follow up with us about the complaint. When we followed up with he told us that he normally will not cut down the height of the tree basically due to HIS certification. Also we discussed both issues with him and believed our quote was to fix both. Instead, we paid $260 for them to basically trim the limbs that were touching our roof, for two trees. They were here less than an hour! We decided to just cut our losses and pay him for the service even though we were not at all happy with it. My husband told Mr. Harrison he would at some point just cut the tree down completely, due to the extreme height of it (which is what I was trying to avoid by hiring a service). Mr. Harrison told my husband something along the lines Yeah. You might want to just go ahead and take it down and plant some shrubs there. REALLY we paid him to cut down the height which he chose not to do because it was not good for the tree! How is he was okay with it being ripped out completely? Now we have to hire someone else to cut down the height. Needless to say I would not recommend him to anyone!
Response by Harrison Tree Service: Our proposal for this work dated 07/12/2018 was responded to by the customer on 03/08/2019 with a "go-ahead" to do the work as per the proposal. As stated by the customer via return email "I would like for you to use OPTION 2 for both trees. (I've attached the original quote PDF) "Elevate the canopy appropriate to its size and species.. plus.. Remove dead wood and thin out slightly" Tree 1 - Near Front Door: $145 Tree 2 - Garage Side of the house: $165" The work was performed on 4/5/2019 and an invoice was sent. The customer responded 4/8/2019 via reply email stating their dissatisfaction with the work and the lack of notification. I replied back stating my apologies for not giving them a notification of our coming to their home and that I had mistakenly called another clients number instead of theirs in error that I did not find out that I had done until the next day. I said I could come back out and inspect the work or if they would rather, I could come when they're home and discuss it with them. I ended the email stating "Again, my apologies and I look forward to hearing back from you." I didn't hear back until 4/12/2019 when the customer called me stating he wished to make payment. In that conversation we spoke about the work that was done and I said the work was done as per the proposal and at no time did I or would I have ever said I would take the height or the top of the tree down. I cannot "top" or "take the top off" any tree as I would lose my Certification as an ISA Certified Arborist if I were caught doing such pruning technique. I was never "paid to cut down the height" as the work was done as per the proposal which states "Elevate the canopy appropriate to its size and species, plus remove deadwood and thin out slightly". Also, as stated in my estimate email, "..., I guarantee you will be happy with the quality of our work ...", I will be sending a refund check back to the customer for $260 (services in full) today 4/15/2019. Sincerely, Mitch Harrison, C.A., Owner Harrison Tree Service

Mitch Harrison and his crew performed high quality work. He was a knowledgeable, experienced arborist and left my yard in better shape than it was before he started the job. I would recommend him to anyone and would hire him again.
